    That is slightly discouraging but thanks for the reply. I would prefer not to see anyone even if that means less chance of taking a big bull, but seems like no matter where in Colorado you will run into people. Have you hunted 3rd rifle season? This might be another option for me.

    Did the franchi have shims installed? You could look at the shorter female version. I have a Affinity 3 since they first came out. It was the first gun i could afford as a college student. The gun probbably had 2000 rounds of clay shooting prior to any birds. The gun has performed flawlessly...

    If you have not introduced her to gun fire, i would start with 12ga just primed hull. No powder, then try stubby .22. You can find them relatively cheap on LCS. then move to field trial rounds. Also do it with live birds if possible.
