Late to the discussion but a few things that I’ve learned as I’ve aged. I’ve done 14hrs plus/week of coached training in my 40s. 1. Make sure you include rest days. 2. renting a handgun Colorado
Save the weight, carry a bow ( carefully). Guy stabbed himself in CO w a broad head going over deadfall last year. Point is, we worry about the stuff that sounds scary ( like mt lion attack) and ignore reality ( hit by car on way to hunt or falling) -

If they’ll increase tag $ by raising prices, that gap is easy to fill. There’s nothing in Western big game hunting trends that shows that tag prices can’t absorb significant increases. I read through the thread and figured out that either: I need to move West if I want cheap tags, but expect to take pay cuts and brutal winters. Except in CO where residents get screwed anyway but there’s decent jobs on the front range. Or complain that I need to pay 60% more for a better... -
