Wanting to experiment with using other packs on my Exo K4 frame. Does anyone have some examples of Hill People Gear and Kifaru's "Ranger Green" next to Exo K4?
Took the K4 5000 out today from 9am to 7pm with a buddy of mine. Combination of hiking, scouting, trail clearing and camp cooking. Had about 35lbs of gear, food, tools and liquids. The organization of the pack came in handy. The long side pockets were perfect for storing my silky saw on one...
Just to throw another accolade their way- I paid for the 2 day shipping option for my 5000 expecting it would take 3-4 like every other company I've tried.
Nope. It shipped within hours of me ordering and it got to Nova Scotia 2 days later. (Ordered wednesday, arrived friday).
Beyond impressed
Got my K4 5000 the other day. It's probably a bit more bag than I'll need but it compresses down as small as my previous 3400ci bag does and has way better organization. Can't wait to get out and use it.
I've had my frame for a bit now and finally ordered a 5000 this week. I'm itching to get it on there.
So far I've mounted a Kifaru Woodsman, a drybag and even a Mystery Ranch 2 day assault pack to it just to see how easy it would be. They all worked fine (some better than others, the Mystery...
The weather changes constantly where I live, not digging the idea of having to deal with a bag within a bag any time I want to pull out or put away a rain jacket or poncho while on the move. Much easier to just stuff it in an external pocket.
If it has a water bladder pocket that will do fine...
Is there any water resistant material on any of the pouches? Just trying to imagine where I'd stuff wet/muddy layers without getting the contents of the main bag wet.
Overall design looks great. I would keep the two side pockets.
I like the concept of the top pocket but personally would like a lower profile pocket up there, maybe stretch material.
I dont use binos so take my input with a grain of salt, but if I DID carry binos I'd probably want them...
I have a Kifaru Woodsman in Ranger Green I bought from another user here on Rokslide. It's used but has lots of life left in it. Two tiny holes near the carry handle but otherwise good condition. $120, $110, $100 USD shipped to US or Canada. Comes with all straps, buckles and chamber pocket-...
I have a 26" Kifaru Duplex Tactical frame with long shoulder straps and medium belt in ranger green. Comes with curved composite stays but also have aluminum ones available.
$330 $315 USD shipped to US or Canada.
Like-new condition. It has only been used on a couple of day hikes totaling a few...
I have a 26" Kifaru Duplex Tactical frame with long shoulder straps and medium belt in ranger green. Your choice of aluminum or curved composite stays. $375 USD shipped to US or Canada for the frame setup without the bag.
The frame, straps and belt are in like-new condition. It has only been...
Couldn't wait, took it out for a quick 1 hour hike with 40lbs in it. 40lbs has never felt so light in a pack for me. I think I need to tweak the torso length a tiny bit but overall its the comfiest and best fitting frame I've tried. The shoulder straps are just perfect.
Here it is with my...
I didnt get out for a hike today but plan to first thing in the morning tomorrow.
I did however attach my Kifaru Woodsman to the K4 frame and load that up with 40lbs. It felt even better than the drybag + grabit did, I was able to pack the weight a bit more optimally I guess.
