I’m not saying we need more hunters, but there’s plenty of hunting opportunity out there if you’re willing to look for it. It just seems like guys would rather piss and moan they don’t draw a deer tag in their state every year rather than look for new opportunities though.
If these “influencers” can get the tags, why can’t the people waiting years for them? I hunt quite a bit every year, and most of my hunting is done with otc tags that anyone could go buy. In my experience, the so called lack of opportunity in hunting is generally a cop out for lack of effort.
As a hunting guide, I generally get 10%-15% on mule deer and elk hunts. Desert sheep I generally get under 10%, but they’re a much more expensive hunt, they’re generally easier to guide than mule deer and elk, and the tips are still good.
I give my all to get my clients on the class of animals...
At least 50 days a year. It’s nice to hunt with buddies, but I really enjoy hunting alone. You can do what you want, when you want, and your success is directly linked to your own actions. You don’t have to make compromises on how you want to hunt.
I’ve been super impressed with it so far. After barrel break in my first 3 shot group at 200 were all touching. Hornady’s advertised speeds seem to be quite generous though. I’m shooting a short barrel at 20”, but I’m still only seeing 2740 FPS. I was talking to the guys at Fierce Arms and they...
Definitely not a moose, but we killed 2 bears this last week with 175 gr ELDX’s out of my 7 PRC. I shot mine at about 30’. The bullet expanded perfectly and passed right through. My cousin shot his at 620 yards, and the bullet expanded perfectly and passed right through.
What sets it apart from every other bino harness on the market? Obviously Kifaru makes a quality product, but is there any major design change from the competitors?
Where I hunt in Montana there was less snow this year than the last couple. I came up the 5th, and didn’t end up seeing a bear until the 9th. Started to see a bear here and there as time went on, but it was a pretty slow year for me. I ended up jumping a decent boar off a logging road and...
I’ve guided a half dozen desert sheep in the last couple years and I always wear solid color pants and tops. Normally brown, gray, or black. I’ve never had any issues.
Anyone know how accurate Montana’s tooth data is? I just looked mine up, and they have 3 of my 5 Montana bear’s listed. I was just wondering what the accuracy of the data was.
