Any of you using Initial Ascent Pack?

The pics I spoke of. Most versatile system I’ve had. Seriously is a workhorse in many situations. This is my experience with the 8k (and 4K)… The frame that comes with the 8k is the newest that IA offers. I say ‘newest’ because there is an additional slot in the frame to add another webbing...

Any of you using Initial Ascent Pack?

So. I think I’ve had a decent amount of time with this pack. Unfortunately, I can’t speak to its capabilities of hauling meat or heavy load. What I can say….its a wonderful frame and pack. The frame itself is a beautiful thing (light, breathable, comfortable). Honesty, it’s a pleasure to...

    Sold Scarpa Ribelle HD 47

Hi all. Posting these up for sale. About 30 miles on them. A really solid boot, but a bit stiff soled for my needs. These are size 13 US. I’m a 12.5, but going with euro sizing, I need a half size up (typical for most). Asking $275 tyd OBO PayPal, shipping insured. Note: This is my...

Any of you using Initial Ascent Pack?

Dennis has me thinking hard on the 8k. It can crunch down to a 5k with the roll top which is very comforting to hear. With the pannier, it seems unstoppable. That was his pack all last year, and his favorite.

Any of you using Initial Ascent Pack?

I spoke with Dennis this afternoon. He’s the co-owner (if not known). It’s pretty cool to talk to an owner, developer, designer, customer service front staff in one. He was very helpful with my questions in an honest down to earth mentality. Would love to drink a beer or two with these guys...

Any of you using Initial Ascent Pack?

I would say the biggest thing leading me to try the IA out is the fact that people say it can haul heavy without issues. I’d like to see a horseshoe zip on the 4 or 6K, but I can do without.

Any of you using Initial Ascent Pack?

Very good points. I don’t care about looks, I just want it to do what it’s supposed to do for me. Definitely a subjective topic when talking packs, boots, etc. maybe I just need to order one and check it out for myself.

Any of you using Initial Ascent Pack?

Thanks! I can say I’ve been following the K4 thread since the beginning and am very excited with the end product and probably end up that route. I actually had my mind made up already with K4, but had a family member say I should take a look at IA. With that said, it’s comparing apples to...

Any of you using Initial Ascent Pack?

Definitely some neat features. From what I can gather, the pannier is extra but meant to be integrated between frame and bag as a stay put combo, or you pull the main bag off and you essentially have their day pack option.

Any of you using Initial Ascent Pack?

Resurrecting this from the crickets. Anybody have further input on any of their packs? I’d be interested in the 4 or 6K probably. The pannier load carrier seems pretty slick as an addition. I did email their customer service yesterday (Sunday) to get more info and the owner Dennis got back...

    Grip Tape Recommendations

A pretty ingenious idea I found over on AT (maybe it originated here somewhere, but either way…). Self-vulcanizing tape. Can be found at most home improvement stores. Harbor Freight carries it for $4. https://www.archerytalk.com/threads/best-grip-tape-ever.6087646/

    Hardside Hydration Review ***Updated 7/31/22***

Also the ease of using this instead of bladder for meal making is appealing. Usually my side bottle is for Mtn ops, and the bladder for water only.
