I drew and was in SW SD for opener (8/19 & 8/20). First time antelope hunter. Y'all got some great country up that way and I had a blast. Couldn't seal the deal but enjoyed every bit. The amount of water was insane. Saw tons of water holes with no tracks. Couldn't find where they were watering...
Sure wish I had seen this comment a month ago! Got in 15 stalks over 2 days in SD. Had a decent buck take a step as my release let go. 84 yds and just over his back. Been replaying that nightly ever since. Fingers crossed I get another chance next year.
Little late to the party haha! However, SD archery antelope (unsuccessful), NM archery mule deer as soon as I get home from this out of town work trip. That wraps my year. Not much luck in the draws in 23. Hopefully 24 will be more fruitful. Good luck to you all!
Welcome! I just met some really awesome people from WY and just got back from archery antelope in SD a couple weeks ago. Loved my experiences up that way and looking forward to returning hopeful next year for another round.
Short of heavy damage I'll probably never change from my XL Double Pin @ .019. I love this thing. At 60# my pin gap was 11 yds w/388 gr arrow going 257 fps.. I just swapped limbs and shafts. My new build is 488gr arrows and 70#. I'm headed to the shop this upcoming weekend to tune and adjust...
I've used them at both 100gr and 125gr. My bow/arrow setup does not like them at all.
I recently got new shafts and put higher lb limbs on so it's back to the tuning board. I'll give em another shot with the new setup and see what happens. I really like the head, just wished my bow did!
Not a big bird hunter outside of turkey. For me it would be TX hogs and a gator hunt in either LA or FL (both via bow). I believe I will be doing the gator in 2023 in FL. Just got to get it booked. Outside of those two, an Iguana hunt or python hunt in FL would be cool to do.
I have one of their older models in a camo pattern. 5 pin if I remember correctly. Unfortunately I was unable to use it as my bow just is not quite fast enough. After exchanging emails with TR the model I have needs to be on a bow 275 fps or more. Mine was about 25 fps to slow. Still got it...
Greetings. ER is a beautiful area. I was born at Ft. Wainwright and raised in Salcha (45ish miles SE of Fairbanks). Did my junior and senior high schooling on Eielson AFB. Took many a moose during my years there. Hopeful that I will be able to return one day. I sure do miss that Arctic Wonderland!
Hello Kumar. I am down I25 from ya a bit in the Albuquerque area. Nice to meet some relatively close. I've seen plenty of critters on the drive up to LANL. Our company does some work for those guys.
I have drawn 4 years in a row for at least one animal. This year I drew for deer and elk. My...
Hello from you NM neighbor. I work out in Texas quite often (Houston area). New here myself and like you just getting back in to it after a long break. Best of luck to ya in CO!
Hello all. I am excited to join the Rokslide Community. I am originally from AK and grew up hunting moose, caribou, and two bear hunts. After graduating from high school I moved to NM. Definite culture shock! I was away from hunting for years and in 2017 the itch became to much so I bought a bow...
