I have used several .166’s (GT Platinum Pierce, VAP, VAP TKO, Easton Axis, Orion) and Orions are my favorite with VAP’s coming in a close second.
The Orions are simply more durable than the others and seem to suit my bow/form better. Are they worth the extra cost? That depends on what you need...
Thank you for clarifying. I read an article years ago about it but things could have changed, or my memory could be faulty, either is a very distinct possibility.

To my knowledge, all “American” trucks are assembled outside of the US while Toyota is assembled in Texas but, all of them source parts globally.

11’ Tundra w/ 198k
I have been very rough on this truck from the day I bought it new and have done none of the recommended PM aside from periodic oil changes (5-10k) and it still drives great.
My only complaints are that the glue finally gave out on the driver side door button cluster so it’s...
Fair point and well stated.
In the Bill V/Dudley podcast, I believe he mentioned dB’s was included in this years university study, so we have that to look forward to.

While I can see your point, I disagree with it.
In a world of over-marketed garbage, Iron Will stands out to me as one of the few suppliers whose products are better than their marketing and IW Bill is one of the most sincere and knowledgeable spokespeople in the industry.
I listen to most of...
4 months in and feeling great. I met a friend today to catch up and, it was at a bar because I’m still not sure where normal people go to do those things.
I had a sprite while my friend had a cocktail and I’m beginning to wonder if it’s possible to have negative desire, even the smell was...
Frankly, I haven’t decided yet as I’ve never used them and haven’t seen a ton of options available.
My original thoughts was to use a 10g titanium IW collar on both ends of the arrow as that nock/collar combinations weight would match my lighted nock but, that would be a pretty expensive...
Nock collars are next on my “to do” list for the same reason.
Well, durability and the fact that adding 10g to the tail will match the weight of my practice arrows with my hunting arrows which include a lighted nock.

As a follow up; I purchased a dozen RIP XV’s and three Sirius Geminis shortly after reading this post and there is a dramatic difference in durability between them. Of the dozen XV’s I purchased, 10 have broken through normal use (3D and nock hits) while all three Gemini’s are still intact...
You are a better man than me sir.
My wife asked me to quit for 15 years but, I stubbornly held onto the belief that “this is who I am” and “you won’t change me”. It took me realizing that it made me an asshole and that I didn’t like the person I was when drinking to quit. I am almost four...
2 months and 2 days [emoji1303]
I haven’t craved a drink in a month but damn if I haven’t been craving sugar. I’m like a crack head for cherry pepsi so apparently I traded vices, on the bright side it’s a lot easier to hold myself to two soda’s a week than it was to hold myself to two beers...
Interesting, if there was no tuning between spines, there goes the power stroke theory. Could certain bow configurations be more sensitive to spine?

For confirmation, the arrows referenced above used the same components with the only difference being the GPI and the paper tears which nock tuning had a negligible impact on.
I built several arrows for experimentation with the new bow and the only one that shot bullet holes at center shot was...
Thank you for sharing! While I haven’t found the podcast referenced yet, there is tons of great content that I will peruse as time permits.

Unfortunately, I am not aware of a singular authority for research as there doesn’t seem to be much of a consensus from the experts outside of the basics.
Gold Tip has a good reference with their “Super Tuning” series as do most of the other arrow manufacturers along with most reputable archery...
Do you happen to have a link to the study by “The Push”? Apparently my google skills are lacking as I can’t seem to find it and am certainly interested in seeing their results.

That is interesting, as I have seen tail left/right pretty dramatically.
What is your draw-length? I ask because I am wondering if my observations are due to the longer power stroke of my draw-length (31.5”). 300 spines tail 3” left and 235’s tail 3” right, with consistency at center shot...
