What is the best state for a non resident to try to get a velvet buck in? Oklahoma does not have a season early enough but I noticed Nebraska and Tennessee both open up early enough to have that possibility. Any others that do not take years of draws to get the chance at a velvet buck?
How many of y’all like to use a decoy early season? This is my first year using a decoy and first decoy is the Montana decoys Trixie doe decoy. I have a spot that I mainly got it for in the rut that always has big bucks cruising for a doe but curious about using it early season too. Any input or...
Big fan of my sitka apex pack. Big enough to stap a bow to or even a gun for that matter but also light enough and small enough to stalk with or take up a tree. I am using that for my saddle setup this year too with my platform and steps attached via the straps on the back.
That is about what I had but always feel like I am horrible scoring from pics. I guessed 20" spread too and 10" g2, 8" g3, 4"g4, 4" brow tine. I feel like he will be 145-155" most likely.
Have a good buck on camera that I will try my best to take no matter the score but curious what yall think he will go. Took a 153" off the same property a few years ago but he was a non typical 9 so hard to compare the two for a score but I feel like this buck is about the same size or maybe a...
Yeah they cross a road and go over to our other land that is mostly all open farm land to feed for the night but they often don't make it to the open land before shooting light is over or if they do it is so open there is not really a reasonable way to set up to hunt them archery wise.
Any tips for hunting near a bedding area? Have permission on a new property that is next to a property I've hunted for 15 yrs. The area I have set up with a feeder and trail camera is very close to the main bedding areas on the property. Any tips for hunting them? Going to be a combination of...

I ended up getting a primos coyote bear buster call to try. It had good reviews and it can be blown super loud or quieter. It came in yesterday and seems like it will be a good option.
I usually wrap it on a small emergency flashlight I have in my pack but have seen others do it on trekking poles below the grip and do the other pole with electric/gaff tape.
Not diy but a cheap light weight option is the gunslicker brand spotting scope cover. Easy to use but still keeps it protected from scratches and some cushion as well.
