Another vote for the Aziak. I just picked it up and haven't had a chance to test it, but the build quality is stellar so far. It doesn't go tall enough to stand, but it's compact and only 15" without a head. I paired it with the Wiser Nighthawk, and it can support my Swarovski 85mm with no...
Like the title said, looking for some user comparisons between the two. Will mostly be used when I bring the dog or wife. Anytime of the year in Montana.
Currently I have some smaller Hilleberg’s and had the original SG and didn’t like setup/materials so I’m leaning to Hilleberg.
I have the Anjan 2 GT. Love it. My only complaints are that the sloped wall allow condensation to soak my toe box on my sleeping bag if it’s bad enough, and the fact that my dog likes to sneak out under the fly lol.
I was looking at pairing it with a Nallo, but the Kaitum is way better at both...
It would be either the dog or the wife in the tent and not both as I have a similar sized dog. If we all go I’d take our Anjan. That’s all good information though! Thanks!
I’d say absolutely, it’s rated down to 8° and if you add puffy layers you could easily get it below zero. More often than not I’m roasting in this bag.
I have a WM Summerlite and Versalite as well as an FF Ibis I believe. The Ibis is like bombproof, it’s wrapped in a Pertex Shield shell and is the highest quality bag I’ve ever seen. The WM are also up there but in my opinion they feel fragile with their light fabric. Both companies have great...
I haven’t had any experience with the Kaitum but I do have the Allak. It’s pretty bombproof for about anything, plus it’s freestanding with two side doors. I think the red labels are more than enough, and if you worry, just upgrade to 10mm poles and you make yourself a lighter black label.
I’m in the same boat. I wouldn’t recommend the Hilleberg Niak because it is TIGHT for two. I’ve been eyeballing the Hilleberg Rogen - I think it would be the bees knees for what you’re describing.
I’d suggest anything from Western Mountaineering or Feathered Friends, I’ve also had great luck with the Stone Glacier bag. I think the WM Versalite is the bag to rule them all though. More loft and fill than the Badger I believe.
