Spy Point Link Micro LTE use when out of service

I would try one first because it depends on so many factors for each camera. But even having a cable attached antenna that can be placed on the side of the tree that the cell tower is on is better than not. I will say from my experience the spypoint signal strength is in 25% segments so who...

Zoleo - discharging its battery in storage?

Like any other battery electronic it is good to cycle it to keep the battery healthy and not leave it exposed to severe weather temperatures when being stored. I have chosen to keep mine in the house and I try to power it on for a day then charge it up every month. I've had it 2 years so far and...

    Spypoint Corrosion Cleaning

Thank you for the idea! I might just try that once I find the source of the leak in my camera.

    Spypoint Corrosion Cleaning

Glad I could provide some encouragement haha. I placed some electrical tape over the power "button" cover hole that was removed since I had to hot glue the switch to the on position... But though the season I still got water in the camera and corrosion again. I'm guessing my camera is leaking...

    Alkaline batteries in trail cam???

Just make sure to check the manual. Some cameras (and other electronics) have settings or little switches you need to flip depending on battery type. For example: spypoint has settings in the app to select what type of battery you have installed. Not sure what it affects but something to be...

    Spypoint Corrosion Cleaning

Hey all, Just wanted to share a little DIY project to try and bring one of my Spypoint cameras back from the dead. I have a Spypoint Link-Micro-S-LTE that started giving me problems last year. Long story short, I believe it received some water damage from the door being left open when it was...

Where do you keep your Zoleo?

I typically keep mine inside the top lid of my Exo pack. Even with toilet paper above it, I don't see any performance issues.

Archery Range Games To Play With Your Friends

Hey all, Just wanted to share some pictures of some range games that my archery friends/family and I play. We have started shooting weekly and at the end of each session, we usually shoot some type of game. Most people shoot better when we are actually competing so I feel like it is decent...

    Satellite Communicator

Zoelo user here, super happy with it, and have had no problems. I picked it over Garmin for the dedicated phone number, which makes it easy for anyone to get ahold of me. Using the app makes it nice because I can still send messages when I have cell service using the app so my text thread is...

    FCC Cell Coverage Map

I just looked at the FCC map and compared it to the current ATNT map in an area I hunt. The FCC map is accurate as to where I have usable service, which makes sense since the map requirements are "Voice: 90% cell edge probability, 50% cell loading factor, maximum resolution of 100 meters. Data...

    Hot Weather Cooling shirts

I have a Columbia PFG Omni-freeze zero 1/4 zip that I have worn deepsea fishing in Mexico, I was surprised at how well it worked. Fascinating technology.

    First wall tent advice needed

My uncle has a wall tent, I thought he was crazy when we first set it up at how huge it is. I would imagine it is in the 8x20 range without the "patio cover"... I would agree with others that 5ft side walls and snow slide are nice to have. I would size up when you get one because the extra feet...

    Hammocks in the back country

Laying in the hammock with the bag will compress the underside and some of the sides of the bag and reduce warmth. Like @HighCountryArcher said a pad in the hammock with you should reduce the cold on your back. I personally am a cold sleep so the times I have ran a hammock to sleep (late...

    Trail Cam - Home Use

From what I have seen, scheduling for game cameras is one of those "premium features". If the coup is right next to your house you should have WiFi there. I would almost suggest a refurbished Blink camera or similar then you get all the features at a fraction of the cost.

Spy Point Link Micro LTE use when out of service

Right on! Yeah, the signal strength thing is funny, I wish it gave it to us in dBm. I had cell service with my phone in one location but cameras couldn't get it for whatever reason. Put the antenna high up in the tree and worked like a charm.

Spy Point Link Micro LTE use when out of service

To answer your question again, yes they will work offline. You can even set them up to turn off cellular sending of photos (save battery) however not sure how that affects their service for settings and management when they return to service, probably have to factory reset them. I haven't...
