Plenty of hinged floor plates have the release inside the trigger guard as well.

    Painting a stock

It's definitely been a while so I don't recall the specific brands/colors - the tan was an FDE and the gold was more of a metallic bronze. I bought a few cans and tested them out on some black buckets before I committed to actually applying it to the stock.

Seekins Element owners - which brake?

^^ The PVA looks like a great option. Totally forgot about them. I’d definitely prefer to stay suppressed. Unfortunately, my Gunwerks 8ight weighs 18 oz, which adds a lot of unnecessary weight. Kind of wishing I’d have picked up a TBAC Ultra 7 before they vanished recently.

Seekins Element owners - which brake?

Gents - I recently picked up a Seekins Element in 6.5 PRC. I typically use a suppressor on my rifles, but I'd like to keep the weight down as much as possible, so I'd prefer to use a brake for this rig. The rifle came with a radial style brake, but at the range the other day, it's really not...

    How to buy alpha spotter

I think you can drive yourself crazy analyzing reviews and the details of each scope. You’d need to do a side to side comparison to see what glass you feel is best, but like you mentioned, sometimes that involves buying a couple of scopes and then returning the one you don’t like. For what...

TBAC Magnus Out of Stock Wait Time

The 338 Ultra is definitely a long can, but the Magnus ain't no shorty either at 9" (although they do have shorter versions now). My 338 Ultra is definitely my favorite can.

Scope Advice Seekins Element 6.5 PRC

I just bought the same rifle and have been trying to decide which direction to go for an optic. I have 2 NX8 2.5-20s and haven’t experienced any issues with eye relief, eye box, etc. I’ve been happy with it for sure, so will likely add another to the stable.

Help me put this rifle on a diet

Agree with the above, how much do you want to spend to drop weight? I’d leave the can home and swap to a brake. Could also go with something like a Manners LRH (30 oz or so). Or… use a different rifle if you have one. I think this is a great excuse to buy a Seekins Element (or other light rifle).

Entry level thermal scope for varmints.

AGM Neith or even the Arken Zulus might fit your bill better than a lower end thermal. I have no experience with either, but videos online seem pretty decent especially for the price. I’ve thought about picking up one for a backup when friends join me.

    Official Montana 2024 Draw Thread

No dice for me on the elk permit - just general elk and deer. No biggie as it's my first year as a MT resident and I'm definitely still trying to figure out areas worth pursuing in the future.
