This late in Dec, you may need to look for next season unfortunately. Any available Utah hunts at this point will be with a landowner tag (usually around 1500-2500 per tag). The KSL classifieds is where you'll see a lot of those posted, but a quick search only yielded an elk farm selling hunts...
I had a Tikka 270 WSM for a couple of years. Killed a couple of black bears with the 140 Nosler AB. Not a bad round at all. I ended up selling it when I moved out east for med school and residency.
The twist rate could be improved to accommodate heavier projectiles. Factory ammo isn't as easy...
While I agree about gunbroker being the place to look for hard to find firearms, this is likely one of the online auctions sites he stated he is trying to avoid due to price.
Is it the same weld failing every time? I agree - I think their numbers are likely suspect as well. My interest in this can is for smaller applications - Howa Mini 6 ARC, 300 BLK, 6 CM. But definitely disappointed to see this may not handle my 22" 300 PRC or even my 21" 6.5 PRC.
If you’re really looking for a solid zero, shoot off a bench with bags. I wouldn’t try to trouble shoot this off a tripod.
Lead sleds suck.
My CVA optima was very easy to get to shoot well. I cleaned it every few shots, but it was just a quick wet patch followed by a dry patch or two.
Thanks! I agree, in the past I probably would be trying to explain that away. It just is what it is. I’m excited to stretch this out on steel next week to see how it does.
