Shed Hunting Ethics, By Karson Sorenson

Appreciate these thoughts. I think it's neat to pick up a cool looking shed while you're scouting or hunting, but seeing them accumulated en masse (presumably for sale?) doesn't sit well with me. To each their own, i suppose, and maybe there's no harm done.

Shed Hunting Ethics, By Karson Sorenson

Good read, thanks for sharing. What about sheds being part of the ecosystem? I've found older sheds that have lots of teeth marks, presumably from a smaller animal gnawing on them (for nutrients?). Are we doing harm by removing too many sheds? I haven't gone on a dedicated shed hunt, but the...

Solid feedback! Thanks for sharing. Were all your shots clean broadside? Any of them quartering?

    Nosler Accubonds vs Partitions

I had success with the Partition, but due to the current shortages everywhere I haven't been able to find any more of it. Came across ABs in 180 grain for my .30-06 and did a bit of digging to find out how they differ. According to Nosler...

The 1 Thing You Learned- Glassing Smarter

Do you do the same with binos and spotter? i.e. start with eyes, then binos, then spotter (if applicable)?

The 1 Thing You Learned- Glassing Smarter

Are tripods only required for binos with magnifications over 10x? I have 10x42 Vortex Diamondbacks, and don't understand the benefit of putting them on a tripod.

I have the same set-up as a couple people on the thread here: Tikka T3x Superlite 30-06. I just started using factory load Hornady Precision Hunter ELD-X 178 grain because in Canada right now it's really hard to find hunting ammo. I previously killed a couple elk using Nosler Partition 180...

The 1 Thing You Learned- ELK

So many good tips on this thread! This is one i learned the hard way in my still novice hunting experience: there's no bench and perfect conditions (distance, angle, set-up, surroundings etc.) in the field. To prep for next season, i'm taking my shooting practice into the bush with a metal...

I'm interested! I live in Vancouver, BC; so we'd need to figure that piece out. Sorry, can't PM yet, but let's see if we can connect.

Talk me into or out of kowa spotter, 554 vs 773 vs 883

Thank you to everyone that has weighed-in on this discussion! I'm looking at Kowa for my first spotter and can find reasons to get each one. I think i'll be picking up the 773 based on my personal needs (budget, species, and size/weight). Hope I don't regret missing out on the pure fluorite...
