Yep i am still kind of surprised that a foot hold used on a coyote would hold a wolf, but since they have been outlawed since I was 7 I don’t have much experience trapping
Eh… maybe, Elbert county is pretty far south, would be east of Co springs… I’m still having a hard time believing this lone wolf just walked from the UP to Elbert has to be over 1000 miles, no sightings, or reports of depredation along the way?
Cage traps only on public. I believe there is a process to apply to get a permit for foot hold traps on private, but trapping has been generally ohtlawed in Co via the no kill traps no footholds or snares since 1996
Once again more BS… “ the will of the voters wouldn’t want that wolf killed” ummm 🤔 flexing that .9% pretty hard IMO we have to get rid of ballot box biology. Also the proposition had nothing in it about a wolf killing livestock it simply stated they were going to introduce wolves into Co by 2023…
I’m with you, I mean the whole thing stinks… thought the same thing, or… they blast this up and the “dead wolf” introduced to throw opinion when last week a lot of people aren’t super happy about the introduced wolves sport killing cattle…
Houses…. I get it I get it, supply and demand, location ect… But growing up on the front range having a realtor as a dad, there is not a great reason why a gut job house owned by a smoker (1300 sq ft without any hvac) should sell for 570k…
So many questions… also nuts if that thing traveled thousands of miles, not an expert trapper but was under the impression coyotes and wolves do not frequent box traps…
My guess is because we are in direct competition with wolves. IE we prefer to eat the same things. Also outside of cats (big and small) and wolves and humans of course not many creatures sport kill. For a recent example The wolves that killed 4 yearling cows outside of kremmling a couple weeks...
Absolutely totally backwards if you wanted to get more hunters, unfortunately getting a spring bear hunt back would be almost impossible since it’s in the state constitution
I swear all these boot manufacturers just make em and sell em, or if they test it is on a paved road or trail, you take anything off road and it’s done-Zoe in 180 or so miles of off trail use
