During my freshman year I loaded up 60-80 lbs and confidently headed up the mountain only to retreat in blisters and back-pain. Freshman year.
Well things have changed friends. You see, I drew a 1st rifle tag and loaded up 60-80 lbs to head up the same trail, but this time I let a horse have my...
Only pigs, and snared critters. I keep mine in my truck, it is quiet and quick (except for my feed issue).
I definitely wouldn't target dangerous game with mine until the feed issue was resolved. But in truth, I never considered that use case when I bought it. Maybe I should, (at least for NA...
For your case, I'd suggest a twist on can. My 6.5cm has a barrel of 16", but including the suppressor, OAL is 22" barrel. My 458 has a 12" barrel and 8" of suppressor for a 20" OAL barrel.
These were my requirements because the 458 is my truck gun (hogs) and the 6.5 I use for deer and predators...
They are. I am still working through feed issues with the 458x2. And I wish I had a chrono for the 6.5. If I were doing it over, and I may still, I would rechamber the 6.5 cm into a 6.5 prc. I kinda think the extra powder would make up for the shorter barrel.

I recently built a 6.5cm with a 16" barrel (22" overall with 6" suppressor) and a 458x2 with a 12" barrel (20" overall with 8" suppressor). I have had them less than a year so the jury is still out. Have a couple deer on the 6.5 but only holes in paper and pigs otherwise.
I built these to...
Well I made it home in one piece. First mountain elk hunt complete. It wasn't a mistake; it was a lesson.
I redacted my 1st thread to protect the identities of the elk of CO. Once again I will change the names and locations to protect both the living and dead.
I got to [White] Basin the Friday...

CH4D has 458x2 dies. During the height of the shortage, they were sitting in stock. I have a feeling they made too many in the past and they never moved. One of the few times having a wildcat paid off, all of their other dies were backordered for months
Thanks. I like your pistol too. Ours are probably similar in barrel length once I discount the suppressor part of the barrel.
I have found that belted mag brass can have different case thickness around the 2" cutoff making some too thick to chamber after taking a bullet. What's been your...
The harder the lesson the deeper it's cut into memory. The messed up thing is I'd buy you beer if you told me of everything you wish you'd done different the first time and I still make the same mistakes. I mean... that shit won't happen to me, you know? just built different! :ROFLMAO:
