    GPS collar/fence recommendations or reviews

I’ve had the wired Invisible Fence on an acre plus for the last 25 years for the beagles I’ve had. Zero complaints. Highly recommend.

Cold-Weather Gear Upgrade - Neutrino Pro vs Stretchdown

Funny you should say that. I have a Neutrino jacket that I bought many years ago and have hardly ever worn because I hate dealing with the zipper. I thought maybe I just was unlucky and got an outlier jacket with a bad zipper.

    NY hunters are people too.

Agree. I’ve bought numerous guns online in NY and paid a few bucks to have them shipped to a FFL. Easy.

    Fork in the road letter

I don’t post much but enjoy this forum as opposed to others I have left due to the rabid political discourse. They just became sites I did not care to be associated with. So I will not get into the politics underlying this discussion but trust me I do have strong views about it. That being...

    Sitka-what to expect

For stand hunting the Pnuma heated vest is a game changer on those days you under dress or the weather suddenly takes a turn for the worse.

    First ATV -- Essential Gear?

I agree strongly with not going up steep hills. How steep? You’ll know when you start telling yourself maybe I shouldn’t be doing this. I dumped my ATV in my younger days going off trail up a stupidly steep hill. I realized I was in trouble and tried to turn to go back downhill when it rolled...

    Heated vest experience?

Another big Pnuma heated vest fan here. I wear it directly next to the skin or over an All Clima wool fishnet baselayer top. https://varuste.net/en/p47127/aclima-woolnet-crew-neck-men

When will InReach / Zoleo / Satelite phones be obsolete?

Was pulling some deer cams in an area without cell service this afternoon before the cold and snow hit me in a few days. Got back to my truck in the woods and could not find my car keys. I spent and hour plus looking for them inside of my truck and retraced my steps but struck out. This is a...

    Non-cellular Trail Cam Recommendations

Checkout the GardePro deer cams on Amazon. Usually you can find a sale on one of the models for under $50. I’ve been using them for 3 years and have only good things to say about them.

Hunting dog injuries & treatment cost

Our beagle Bongo Broken femur - surgery and physical therapy $8500 He found a gallon plastic jug of heavily rummed Puerto Rican eggnog that had accidentally been left outside the basement freezer and drank most of it after chewing the top off. He was drunk on his ass. Over night stay in the...

    All Season Whitetail Clothing System

If I had to compromise it would be the Stratus bibs and Fanatic jacket with the understanding the Fanatic jacket would need to be carried to the stand in warmer temps.

Sitka Fanatic Sizing - L or XL?

    Heated clothing

I have been using the Lenz 5.1 heated socks for many years and love them. The phone app works great and has many heating options. I simply don’t worry about cold feet anymore when I deer hunt and go steelhead fishing in the winter. The only negative is they are very expensive.

    Cold Weather Hunting Hat

My main go to cold weather hat. You’ll love it especially if you pair it with the First Lite Tundra balaclava.

    Heated vest experience?

Pnuma vest. Instant warmth. I find it helps the most on those rainy mid 30s days when it’s hard to keep that damp chill from sucking the warmth from you.
