    Yeah I thought long and hard about StaBall HD too. Just haven’t had much luck with the few ball powders I’ve tried, unless case fill is maxed out. Maybe the StaBall HD is better, and to be fair my experience with the broad spectrum of ball powders is limited Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    I did some tinkering with the 120gr TTSX out of a Weatherby (How 1500) in 7mm-08. With 43.9gr of Varget and the 120gr TTSX, I got 2909avg velocity. SD and ES weren't great, but that was also with 0.0015" neck tension. With 43.6gr Varget I had 2870avg velocity and 8.5 SD and 23 ES, but only in...

    Thanks. H1000 sounds like a great powder. my hesitancy with it is, it's slower burn rate and the 22" barrel. I could be way off base, but I'm thinking H1000 might be best for 24" and longer barrels in terms of 100% burn before reaching the end of the barrel.

    I've got a 22" barrel on order, and one of my concerns with using H1000 is complete burn. I use Mac OS so I can't run GRT to try to get a feel for "complete burn". With the 20" barrel, are you seeing any signs of incomplete burn? How are the groups? Thanks!
