“Lost Track”
Comforting feeling isn’t it. 80% of the reason I preordered these with Doug was for this exact feature. Needless to say I’m disappointed. The other 19% has disappointed as well. Hard to read display, slow to wake up, Bluetooth connection issues, poor manual, focus knob, etc. The...
There are more benefits than just optical magnification and distance to target. Depending on the manufacturer/model you can also get ballistics, air temp when your curious, remote markers (I use this for checking land ownership from a distance, or marking POIs from a distance to check out...
This is something I discovered on my Colorado trip last year. It was cold and windy and and my eyes were bothered by the cold wind. So much so I couldn’t use my spotter effectively because my eye was watering too much from the cold wind. There was nothing I could do to keep my eye from...
Lately I’ve been using the two rangefinder method. I get redundant range finders in case one fails and the 3x power has amazing FOV at 100 yards. Plus with my lazy eye I can look forward and 90 degrees to the right at the same time. I’ve found at angles greater than 75 degrees the lasers don’t...

FWIW I have the mountaineer series 3 and love it. I wanted something smaller for travel and lighter loads. I purchased the traveler series 1 and it seems like a flimsy toy compared to the mountaineer. I’ll keep it for light non critical loads. The vibration is too much to handle after getting...
Anyone ever use a camera shop and have them professionally cleaned? I would think they have the tools/chemicals to do the job right. I’m thinking of doing this before the big hunt this year unless someone advises against it???
Thanks for posting the video.
Couple things to note:
1) 0:45- he says "awake." Had to listen to it several times
2) 1:09- My comment from May 2 under "Likes" about using left hand-confirmed by a youtuber...
I'm glad you asked. I've been meaning to post about this for a while but haven't got around to it. I found the below YouTube video on how to calibrate the compass. I was doing it wrong, I was holding the binos horizontal for the figure 8 movement. Once I switched to vertical motion, the way...
