Anybody tried Big Agnes Lost Ranger UL 3N1

Same here/agreed all around. Would add that It's not that small or light to pack, but I think it's worth it. Have slept comfortably in 10, 25, 45 and 60 degree temp ranges. (All with an exped synmat)

    Triathlon/Marathon/Endurance Sports Thread

I ran some back in the day (15+) years ago, have been active but not regularly exercising in the last decade, signed up for a half in September/full marathon in October this year and have been enjoying getting back into shape. No time goals yet, I'm just seeing how the year develops so far...

How to catch an untrapable mouse.

Poison. I would also assume it's not one mouse, it's multiple. It's always multiple... Particularly if they have been there a while

    Money or Happiness

Welcome to the midlife crisis. Some of us get it early in our 30s, some in our 50s. I'm in a similar boat, but have decided to ride out the financial stability train and set myself up for an enjoyable retirement/my kids for success like my parents did for me. Nobody's going to be able to...

    Alaska Sheep Hunt Pricing

As a client I feel like this is an attractive idea, however I'm wondering if the "barrier to entry" should be this low- meaning I wonder if you'd get more out of shape/poor shot/under prepared clients that think they want the adventure without understanding what it actually is? Also if nobody...

    2023 Whitetail Meat Pole

My first "real" buck in season 4 of bowhunting (shot a small spike last year) and my first bowhunting double- a freezer queen for me/donated to FHFH button (accidental, thought it was a doe and didn't get a good look at the head until post shot). October was good to me.

    Military service late in life

No disrespect meant at all to our service members, current, past, or future, but as a 37 to with two young kids and a good job/masters degree, it sounds like a terrible idea. We've missed the boat. I am looking in to joining search and rescue or other types of volunteer orgs. Not the same...

Anybody tried Big Agnes Lost Ranger UL 3N1

Zipper does catch the bag a decent amount of not careful, in my limited experience. Still relatively pleased with the system (though I don't have a ton of high end sleep system experience to compare it to).

    Exo Mountain K4?

Agreed that the solo gun loading is a bit of a downer in theory. I'm leaning towards leaving the sling on for that reason, and for the offhand shot accuracy benefits- thank you for that reminder. Trying to remind myself that generally if I've taken my rifle out I'll have taken the pack off as...

    Kuiu Yukon

I talked to them on their chat last week or the week before and they replied saying the new versions were likely to be released at some point the first half of August, so likely any day now.

    Exo Mountain K4?

Super fast shipping, here 48 hours after ordering. Thanks exo, more well made gear. Initial fiddling report- reaching back to unbuckle is somewhat awkward, but something I can get used to. I can almost unbuckle by reaching across with my left hand as well, though my pack is loaded with 2 25 lb...

    Man, everyone backpack hunts now

I don't see a backpack, by the looks of it he doesn't seem to walk too far from your truck. Just push in a few miles and you'll have nothing to worry about, he'll be near the parking area doing yoga when you're packing out your BOAL

Wrestling a Grizz to the death

OP was spot on with the title. You can 100% wrestle a grizz to the death. Most of you are just getting confused about who's death he was referring to.

    PEAX SOLITUDE 4 TIPI GIVEAWAY

Review mentioned "sealed seams"- are all seams sealed from the factory, or would user need to seam seal after purchase? And the center pole is interesting, I'd have to see it in person/be inside the tent to really tell if it's worth it, one of the things that's nice about some of the other tips...

    Exo Mountain K4?

Aren't those all for the mini, not the messenger? I have a mini 2, one of the reasons I went with it over the messenger is the mounting etc options. Seems like Garmin designed the messenger to be a keep in your pack and pull it out with your phone when you're sending messages device. Edit: too...

    Exo Mountain K4?

Looks great. I'm wondering if instead reaching across the body with your left hand and releasing the buckle with that hand, keeping the right arm tight to your chest with the elbow bent til the rifle is more horizontal is possible/smoother since that's the hand that will be on the foregrip when...

    Build An Electric Bear Fence

bumping thid old thread... are the components listed here/ what @colonel00 used (post #5) still the best component/ build examples to follow? it looks like the electro bear guard/ eagle kits use a different energizer, so wondering if there's different component reccomendations (mainly for...

    Recommendations for Airline Ammo Case

OP is flying to CANADA/canada air. They have different rules than other airlines (like delta) taking you on flights within the states.

    Exo Mountain K4?

Haven't had a chance to use the pack on a hunt yet, but it's taken quite a few trips up and down my stairs at home with 2 25 lb dumbbells inside to attempt to get the legs in shape, so far so good. Who's got early season plans that your k4 will be coming along for? I'm headed to Alaska mid...
