Questions on the Tikka Specter from Europtic

I'm wanting a 308 tikka with 20" barrel. Stainless and cerakoted would be nice. I believe the roughtechs have a contour between the lite and ctr? This seems best since I would like to target shoot and hunt with it. My target shooting is for improving my own ability for hunting purposes, so...

    350 Legend Suppressor Recommendations

I use a 375 raptor 8 with 2" reflex on my 375 raptor (308win parent case). From what I have seen it does well compared to other suppressors, even when used on smaller calibers. I use mine down to 223. They are pretty lightweight, I think. Anything you would like to know specifically?

    Help choose new cartridge.

375 raptor is kinda fun. I make it out of 358win cases. I do actually have some headstamped brass for it. Because it's slower, the simple cup and core bullets work fairly well and they aren't expensive. I know guys have used the 270gr speer on giraffe. The bullet mushroomed nicely. Not a...

    NEW 338ARC, what say ye?

It seems to fit into their ARC line pretty well. The 358 Gremlin is a similar idea. Grendel case, 358 bullet. If you are going "AR10" size, the 375 Raptor made more sense to me. Good subsonic performance, and beats the 8.6BLK supersonic.

    Shorty Hunting Rifle Chambering?

Since you mentioned the 375 raptor; there might be dies available. Check with CH4D. They sell out quick, which shows demand, but also hurts availability. LEE might be making a run of raptor dies in the future, but I'm waiting to hear back on that. PT&G had headspace gauges available last...

    16" suppressed elk gun

If you reload and want something a bit different, I would take a look at the 375 Raptor. Currently a wildcat, but made from 308 brass. Dies are hard to come by, but do get made. I feel like in the supersonic realm, it is similar to 358 WIN. However, if you ever wanted to shoot subsonic, then...

Has anyone pursued a private pilots license for the purpose of hunting ?

I was sleeping in the open under my wing out in Utah one night. Middle of nowhere airstrip in the canyonlands. I awoke at midnight to a squeaking noise. A noise I knew all to well as a farm kid. There was a bull (moo cow) standin just beyond my wing tip and me. He was chewing his cud, hence...

Has anyone pursued a private pilots license for the purpose of hunting ?

I am not sure I would recommend getting a license and plane just for hunting. Cost: The license isnt cheap these days, but if you buy the plane first, you may just need to find an instructor. Good plane might run close to $100,000. Prices have gone up alot. Insurance and annual inspection...

Hunting/Stuff to check out in Gila National Forest

We have hunters that lease our land. The pheasant hunting isn't the greatest right now, however the quail seem to be making a comeback. I don't pheasant hunt much. There are a few hunting operations around, though. Ringneck Ranch, Quail Quest, Special T, etc. Its probably more fun to shoot...

Hunting/Stuff to check out in Gila National Forest

I am hoping to get down to New Mexico and visit the Gila National Forest Area. I was curious what affordable hunting opportunities are in the area. Cheap and over the counter tags is what I am hoping for. I am still looking up info, but mountain lion hunting sounds interesting. I...
