The three 2.5-10x56 amber dot Accupoints I have are spectacular at having no flair in low light. Leupold firedots are not.
I have a heavy dose of astigmatism

Last whitetail I shot straight on was with a 130 gr SST from a 270. The deer's back legs kicked as the front of the body raised up. It literally went straight up into the air and flipped over backwards. Only time I've seen it happen.
I'm not TaperPin, but can attest to the effectiveness of straight away ass shots on good sized (for South Carolina, anyway) whitetails. Never had one go over 10 yards. The ones that made it that far were at least trotting, but most were running hard that moved at all. These shots were with 270...
"They smoke first thing in the morning, right after work and again at night chillin’, every day all year."
"Same thing for an alcoholic."
Y'all don't drink at lunch?
Waiting til someone is 12 yr old to hand them a 12 ga slug gun would have been merciful when I was growing up. Game management land was slug only. Kids I knew including myself got handed an old single shot 12 ga to deer hunt somewhere around age 5 to 8.
No rifling. If an adult could hit a pie...
Yes sir I've been there dozens of times, maybe over a hundred.
2nd ex wife one time said really pissy "just shoot it yourself, you asshole!". Heavy horned buck still hangs on my wall as a reminder that a feller only has so much patience 😀.
Half a head at 100 yards?
He's graveyard dead before he hears the shot.
300 yards and I'd probably pass for the moment and hope for a better shot to materialize.
I'd agree that generally females are better shooters, and I've seen it with many rifles I'd consider heavy kickers for their body size.
The difference I've noticed is that a higher percentage of females are more shooters and less killers. Get shaken when it's time to kill.
Also true with males...
I have no clue regarding Hornady interbonds, but the Hornady interlock is a damn good whitetail bullet. I've cleaned well over a thousand whitetail killed with them. 40 years ago the Hornady Custom BTSP was what my family was using. 243 100gr, 308 150gr, 270 130gr, 30-06 165gr, 7mag 162gr...
I have 300wsm rifles with 22, 23 and 24 inch barrels. Can't tell the difference in performance, but shorter is definitely handier. I don't use brakes or cans.
South Carolina doesn't require orange on private land. I always ar least wear an orange hat. I prefer a homemade welders type soft cap. Slip into your pocket if you want
