    I run sitka timberlines pretty much the whole season. not too warm for September but the fit is loose enough that layering under is easy. Lot of functionality with the knee pads and waterproof seat too

    I took the elbow pads out of my apex hoody right away but it's great otherwise. Built in face mask is real convenient too. I use it as an outer layer early season and mid layer once it cools down

    sitka lightweight core hoody would be my top pick with the apex hoody in second. It's a a bit heavier but more abrasion resistant and has a big kangaroo pocket on the front

    Traverse hoody is a bit too big to be a mid layer, I've worn it under the stratus jacket once or twice but it's not the most comfortable thing. I'd go heavyweight hoody or fanatic, the apex isn't really that warm
