As stated, this WILL melt if you use it for the entire chimney pipe on most stoves. Without a baffle I could easily make my chimney pipe glow (1300ish or more degrees); though with a baffle it hasnt glowed any longer.
I would use at LEAST 3' of stainless or titanium, then I think the aluminum...
Yes, he was out camping or something so slow to reply. I was only waiting on a paypal address, but he is now backing out of selling it per the PM I just got
I would, but I only came into the money in the last week or so. Leadtimes will be pushing up against a trip I plan on taking at the beginning of June so I dont think it will make it in time from Seek to make that work. Plus, if I can save a few bucks that would be cool too.
I also sent a PM. I will take it if mjsekerak hasnt already committed. Paypal and venmo at the ready; not sure if you saw my WTB thread but I can also do a trade / partial trade for freeze drying services.
I have lots of feedback in other venues if needed
When I get a couple more pieces to my seek outside lbo I will be selling my luxe octopeak with stove jack and snow skirts (just purchased in Feb... Didnt realize how much better the modularity of the LBO would fit my needs). Not sure I want to sell until I have secured the other components...
*** Purchased new, no longer looking unless you want to barter a tarp with stove jack for freeze drying services***. Totally forgot about gohunt who stocks items.
I have plenty of feedback in other venues, though probably doesnt matter for buying.
I am looking for an lil bugout tarp and base...
Oh, I totally forgot BBQ; shelf life may not be super long due to the fatty meat, but well smoked pulled pork works great. Who needs BBQ sauce when you have a nice moist well seasoned and smoked pulled pork? Eat as-is or add to other items. Bring some buns and eat it as a sandwhich, throw in a...
Chicken fajitas; cooked chicken rehydrates WONDERFULLY and pretty much instantly. Then you can go to GFS and get a few bags of their roasted peppers and onions and dehydrate those. Throw in a tortilla, add some cheese, and you have a hot meal ready as soon as you add hot water (wont even need to...
How much does that end up weighing? How much does a vestibule with stove jack weigh? IE, how much savings would that end up being?
My stove jack is in the base as I wanted to be able to do a base-base setup for hot tent camping, and then expand the system when I have the family with me. I...
For those who may come here via a search, you are looking for YKK #8 coil zippers. I got these:
https://www.therainshed.com/shop/c/p/YKK-8-Coil-2Way-Separating-Sleeping-Bag-Zipper-100-inch-Black-x19108555.htm
You can shorten the zippers to the proper length; you'll also need some "top stops"...
It seems it doesnt matter that my tarp is shorter; I also dont know how to tell the difference in zippers! Doh. I am a MYOG newbie. I thought these zippers were plastic, so I ordered YKK vislon zippers. Yeah, it is DEFINITELY not that. Looking at them side by side, its definitely a coil zipper...
Can you hook up just one fan? I am not looking for a boot dryer, I am looking for something to circulate air in a hot tent to help it be warmer at the ground and cooler up top. I cant really tell from the pics, but I am guessing both fans go to the same USB cord. Though, who knows if these fans...
Wouldnt the PU coating on two of the listed options make it pretty well waterproof? Assuming its the actual PU coating with 3000-4000mm rating and not the PU/sil mix at 1500-2000mm rating.
Unfortunately my tarp is shorter than the zippers, so if I used it then it would be off the ground by several inches.
I recently saw a good picture of the tarp; I was surprised there was a hem down the 5' dimension. My guess was a 5' wide strip made 13' or so long. I dont know if they are using...
My base arrived today! Sweet! So, I was able to verify the zipper length, zipper style, and shelter length. I have a zipper on order now and I will see if my 9x12 tarp can work. Its raining now so I cant set back up and take the tarp out there. The 12' dimension is probably a hair shorter due to...
I have a base with stove jack on the way. I am just curious if anybody else has made their own modules for the system. I am not sure if I'll even be able to find a compatible zipper, but one thing I've thought about doing is hooking up to homemade tarp for hammock camping; you could put the base...
Also a michigan person here. Saw enough in the FNG threads I didnt figure we needed another, so just hopped on here. I dont necessarily plan on doing a lot of the extreme hunting; I am more here for the seek outside community that seems to be gathered here. But who knows, know that I have a hot...
