    McCall, ID Family Trip

Headed to McCall Friday-Sunday April 19th-21st with my parents. Any recommendations on things to do? We know it's a transitional time of year, so maybe not the best for things the area is known for. They hike a bit (mid-60's, flatlanders) but won't be prepared for any hiking in the snow. Would...

Selling my Kowa TSN-602 straight body spotting scope with a TE-9Z 20-60x eyepiece. $500 TYD. Just moved up to a Swaro so don't need this one anymore.

Amber vs Clear Truck LED Auxiliary Lights

Got a new truck recently and now that I can't scroll Autotrader as a hobby I'm onto researching accessories. Planning on putting some auxiliary lights on it and, based on previous frustrations with visibility, I'm planning on an LED bar, fog lights, ditch lights and reverse lights. Still...

Selling my Owyhee tent. Set it up once in the yard, never taken in the field. $300 TYD lower 48. Happy to facetime, send additional photos, etc. Would accept trade offers +/- cash, particularly an Absaroka 4P. Edit: Has not been seam sealed, I do have the original tube and will include.

Coyote Hunting - Seated Front Rest Options

Looking to do some coyote hunting in the next few months and wondering what options I should consider for a front rest for seated positions. I'll shoot with my Tikka this year but in the future will probably want the ability to switch between bolt and AR platforms. Here's what I've looked at so...

    Venmo Business Account Scam

Anyone seen this Venmo Business Account scam yet? I'm 99.9% confident it's a scam at least. Seller seemed normal at first, but their account was weird. Then started using some of the typical scammer language, using "kindly" excessively. Got the attached email and the address was a red flag. No...

    Logged Out Issue

Anyone else having issues with being logged out randomly? I'll open a sub forum and be logged in, then go to "what's new" and be logged out. Click on a thread and suddenly logged back in again. Happening on multiple devices.

    Pastrami Brine Kits

Anyone have a recommended brine kit for pastrami? Alternatively, is it better to buy the individual ingredients and work by percentages? Never done a cured meat before so a little wary.

    Pendleton, OR

My boss just pitched having me travel from Seattle down to Pendleton, OR next year for a project. It's only 9-10 months and would likely be January - October 2024. I'd maintain WA residency, but with housing, per diem and what not being covered by the company I'd be okay with shelling out some...

    Deck Boots

Looking for a solid pair of deck boots. Thought Xtratuf was the obvious choice, but 70% of the most recent reviews are negative and say the quality has gone to crap. Grundens have fewer negative reviews, but seems like some people are having similar issues with rubber cracking and sole...

    Bone In Black Bear Shoulder

I have a bone in black bear shoulder from a small sow we got this year. Was thinking about smoking it pulled pork style. Any other suggestions or tips?

    Gunwerks and FFP Scopes

Listened to this podcast with the GoHunt guys and Aaron Davidson and found the FFP scope discussion pretty interesting. Aaron mentions that dialing for wind is foolish and that all hunters should be using FFP scopes. Interesting points made but I'm not sold on it.

    .410 Shotgun for Backpacking

Are there any good lightweight .410 shotgun options for backpacking? Turns out I suck with a .22 pistol at hitting grouse. Going to work on that but I'd like to have a .410 option as well. I feel like I've seen an ultralight, folding stock, single shot option before but can't seem to find it...

    Stainless Thread Protector

Any recommendations on a stainless 5/8x24 thread protector? Google brings up a whole bunch of manufacturers I've never heard of...except for Amazon.

Liberty Safes Provides Access Codes to FBI

https://americanmilitarynews.com/2023/09/gun-safe-maker-gives-fbi-customers-safe-access-code-fbi-raids-home/ Thoughts? Seems like law enforcement would cut their way in otherwise if they were really motivated.

    10/22 Takedown Scope

Looking to build a 10/22 takedown with the backpacker stock for plinking grouse in the backcountry. Any recommendations on a scope that would be a good fit for that use that will maintain zero with the constant assembly/disassembly?

    OnX Waypoint Photos

I take a photo for just about every waypoint I place while in the field. They don't show up in the waypoint on other devices, and after a while they don't appear to be loading in the waypoint on the device that took the photo. Just get the attached image. Anyone else have this problem? @onX Hunt

    Cooler Racks & Wet Aging

Found this out a little by accident but it's proven to be pretty awesome. You can find tons of sizes of cooling racks for baking on Amazon. I bought a few for cooking, but at some point realized they fit perfectly in the bottom of my Rtic 65. Very useful for when I wet aged my deer last year...

    Career Change from Commercial GC

Been in a project engineer role for a couple commercial GC's for 6 years to the day. I make good money, good benefits, but the stress is killing me. Anyone ever leave the commercial GC industry and, if so, what did you go to? Also, would like to be in a position where I'm not as dependent on...

    FCC Cell Coverage Map

Anyone ever use this to determine whether you might have service for a cellular camera in a particular spot? Wondering if it's reasonably reliable. Based on some previous spots I've checked for service it seems to agree, both in terms of spots the cameras have worked and spots they haven't...
