For those with a V3 31 and who also tried the lift how do they compare? Are the actual speeds similar at the same draw weight & draw length. What about Balance and all that?
I'm on a kill streak with my V3 and it isn't going anywhere, but it doesn't hurt to keep an eye out. I personally shy...
I emailed weatherby about the sale and they will apply the discount to pre-orders of the high country model in whatever caliber. So you could get a discount on one that is not in stock. Maybe email them and see what they say about the custom shop?
I ended up purchasing a weatherby Apex lefty...
The 12-40x60 strikes a really nice balance between packability and optical clarity. If you are willing to carry more weight, and pay more, the Swarovski spotting scopes are amazing. I also get a discount so it helps a lot.
whatever you do, get a solid tripod and good pan and tilt head for it...
I zeroed at 130 yards and used a mpbr offset that just happens to pass through center again at 300. I didn't try to center up the windage at 300, just verified trajectory was as advertised. Peak bullet rise occurs around 170 yards and is around 3 inches.
I chrono'd my rifle at 3510 fps with the...
Alright, working on a medium range build with a 600 yard max once I have everything doped out. Target species is mule deer on backpacking hunts.
My question is what scope mounts would you trust in a high recoiling, lightweight rig with a 23 oz scope?
Is there a scope weight threshold where...
For the guys interested in a .257 weatherby take a hard look at 6.5 rpm first if you want a light magnum weatherby. 6.5 rpm beats 257 across the board. Better bullets, lighter rifles, lower recoil, marginally better barrel life, and a more modern case/chamber. The the 6.5 rpm ammo is cheaper...
If anyone is following weatherby they are making some of the changes you are talking about here. I'm a lefty and I tend to keep up with any left handed offerings.
Chamberings in 7mm prc and 300 prc are now available to order. 28 nosler snuck into their line as well.
The Apex model has a #3...
I got tired of looking at one piece rings that might barely fit. I ordered a peak 44 J-rail so I'll report on that. The back part is low profile so I should be able to keep the credo lower on the bore axis.
It is aluminum so before a shooting review, I will bed the rail to the action and make...
I ran into an issue mounting a trijicon credo on a weatherby Mk V 9-lug with the talley mounts, the magnification adjustment ring bumps up against the talley base.
Does anyone know if the leupold back country mounts have lower profile bases compared to the ring height?
My other solution is to...
Hello everyone, I'm a left handed back country hunter and I have been on the hunt for a do everything rifle.
This might be the ticket.

Left handed options in the 7mm prc and 6.5 RPM. I like the paint better than the apex.
