If you are looking for jack of most trades but not the best in 44 mag then you would do fine with Titegroup, Win 231/HP38 or another fast burning powder. Be careful of double charges but otherwise, titegroup works in all of them. Not ideal for the 357 or 44 mag, but it will work.
Blend away! especially if you just bought 5 lbs of different lots. Now you have 5lbs of your own lot. Anyone that says you would have 99 kernels of 1 lot and 1 of another needs fo learn how to mix. That would be the equivalent of saying all of your chocolate chips are in one scoop and the...
It is the only 22 you need to have if you only get to have 1. I always tell people to buy a 10/22 because you can do so much with them. Kind of like a Glock or Remington 870, universal and you will always have parts and can sell it when you want to upgrade to something else.
Tikka roughtech 300wsm, most accurate rifle that I have owned. Definitely heavier than my 300wm superlite but with groups this good, I can’t complain. Jared
Buy a 22 conversion kit and use it as a trainer for your son. I’m with everyone else, don’t sell it unless you sell it to a friend/family member with the caveat that they sell it back to you before selling it off. Jared
I have 2 roughtech stocks and they come with an extra hole for a sling and a bipod. I would wait until you get it and see if it has the extra hole. That being said, I have a Harris bipod and it has holes in the mounting squeeze thingy for attaching a sling. Hope this helps. Jared
Sorry for the late post. I did do a drop test on all 4 and have not had a single problem. One of my triggers is a little too light, but I can drop it on the recoil pad from 2 1/2 feet and it has never gone off.
Get the trigger springs, ~$10 you will end up converting all of your tikkas. I changed the springs and then set the pull weight to the heaviest I could with the spring and it is awesome.
Amy issues with it slowing way down after a couple of weeks? Bunch of Amazon reviews from 2018 saying this, so wondering if This is still the case? I love Katadyn products so not trying to cause controversy.
Thanks tuck, you are correct. You would think someone would mention that in the instructions?
if anyone looks up this issue, you take off the cap with the supplied Allen wrench and there is a dial inside with a flathead screwdriver slot. You can go up or down then put your cap on with it at...
So working on a 270wsm rebuild so there are a couple places where I might have an issue but let’s start with the scope. I mounted a new leupold vx-6 varmint reticle on an older T3 action w/ Sportsmatch tikka rings. I also had a new roughtech barrel placed into the Tikka action.
My problem...
I had a middle of the road Varget load with .308 brass and 168 bthp. I bought some new LC 7.62 brass and got high pressure with my normal load, (here is where everyone says to re-work up your reloads). Had to pull down 49 pieces and went back to RP, Fed, Hornady and Winchester brass. I would...
Be careful with Lake City 7.62. They are thicker than regular .308 brass and will use less powder. So start at the low end of the recommended powder weights and work up. I love 5.56 LC brass but the 7.62 caused me pressure issues in my savage bolt gun. Now I need to buy a semi-auto 308 rifle.
Colorado School of Trades gunsmithing school. They aren’t fast but good prices and great work. I’ve had them do many sights, including an XD that they had to mill the back sight out of.
I have a tikka roughtech with a 23 3/somethings threaded barrel. I wish it was shorter with a TBAC ultra7. Getting 2800 with 200gr accubomds. IMR 7828 and really accurate.
Live in Castle Rock, CO and found this site as a guy who loves Tikkas and jaws looking into modifying a 300wsm for long bullets. In the midst of trying to find a thick enough barrel, I have found my new love. Tikka Roughtech in 300wsm. It shoots 200 ABs amazingly well. So now I’m not trying...
