I’m glad you made it out ok, recovery sounds miserable.
To answer your question directly, what I carry to deal with a situation like this hydrocodone and a zoleo. But seriously, I don’t think a major leg injury like this is something more gear was going to solve. I mean, how many folks are...
Shoot either bullet through both the lungs, you’ll be fine. Hit the guts or the shoulder, it won’t matter what bullet (or caliber/round) you shot it with.
They are legit and easy to use. Got one a few years back and have made or repaired lots of hunting gear (and random household items) with it. And I’m not a crafty person or seamstress by any means.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!!
I dissembled the bolt again today and took the firing pin out, hit it all with break cleaner, lubed it lightly, and reassembled it.
Took it to the rock pit this morning and shot 10 rounds without any issues.

I’ve walked down plenty of live...
Drive/xcountry ski roads in the dark until you cut elk tracks. Follow elk tracks. Kill elk. Post report to Rokslide (optional).
I love fresh snow while hunting elk (although 10” is a bit more than optimal). Good luck!
