Hey guys, I'm looking to trade my Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 in MRAD for the same or equivalent scope in MOA.
The scope is in excellent shape, there are no nicks or scratches on the scope besides maybe the faintest ring mark from when I originally installed it. The glass is in perfect condition...
I was expecting a lot more backlash from this post haha. So again, I really appreciate the advice. I know Nightforce has an excellent name in the industry, so I would expect people to be baffled by the idea of straying away from such a trusted brand.
This has been kind of a self-taught process...
Our local range only goes out to 500 yards (NW Montana), but my buddy and I are going to set up some 1000 yard targets in the next couple weeks. I have some old 12inch 375wall steel pipe that we were going to use to make some gongs out of. Weld a chunk of chain on a 12" long peice of pipe...
Good points Weiser, I'll just stick with the ol Nightforce after all until I find myself actually needing more magnification.
I've never used a scope with really high magnification, but that's a good point about the mirage.
I appreciate the help 😁
First of all, I appreciate your time and insights, everyone!
I'm contemplating switching my Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 for a Sightron Siii 10-50x60. I currently have this Nightforce on my Southfork 300PRC, and I want to extend my shooting beyond 1000 yards. I know this is probably plenty of...
Thanks for the feedback guys! I can see how a mandrel could negate some variables, but I think I will see if I can dial in a load before I give them a shot. It always seems like there are a million little details that can alter load development.
I just got back from the range where I did a 13...
Hey guys, I am trying to work up some loads for my 300PRC and I have a question about neck tension. I am pretty novice when it comes to reloading so pardon my lack of knowledge here.
I am using the RCBS Matchmaster dies and have chosen a .334 bushing to use with it from the information I...
Thanks for the all the feedback guys! Although the 338win is a legendary round, I think the general consensus is to consider a different caliber for my needs. The 7prc has some very intriguing ballistics, but I feel a 30 caliber will be making its way home with me. Time to figure out how I break...
Hey guys, I figured this would be a great place for those with experience to shed light on this caliber for elk hunting. I know there have been countless threads discussing this caliber and it's effectiveness with many large animals including elk, but any further advice would be greatly...
Congratulations on the new rifle!
Unless you are trying to shoot competition, I would just pick up the Caldwell Deadshot combo front and rear set. I wanna say that I picked mine up years ago for like $35 and they work great👍🏻
Happy shooting.
Hey there!
How're you liking the new rifle? I was looking into those Xbolts recently. I'd like to get a 300prc and was split on whether I should buy a Browning xbolt, Bergara or another Christensen.
My current hunting rifle is a 6.5prc Mesa from Christensen and I am impressed how dang accurate...
Muck Arctic Pro are pretty amazing boots.
I wore them for years in North Dakota winters while working in the oilfields. I much prefer them to big bulky boots like Baffins etc. They allowed decent ankle support considering they are a slip on boot, due to the smaller boot profile, and were able...
