LC brass is good quality. As stated previously, the capacity is much different. I find that Federal and LC brass generally have pretty close capacity being much lower than Remington or Hornady. You will get to pressure MUCH sooner so back down 10 % off of max and rework your load. I'll also...
My Tikka 7 Rem Mag load is a 160 Accubond, RP brass, CCI 200 and 72 grains of MagPro. Bullet seated at Mag length. 3.330 COAL. If I recall, velocity is around 2950.
Mind sharing your powder charge? And also distance to lands if you happen to know. I've been tinkering with this exact load for a while with very limited success. Right when I think I have a load worked up I make up the same load to verify and it falls apart.
Ive got a solid load for my tikka of 72 grains of magpro under a 160 accubond. This is a max load work up to it. But tikkas also have a mile long throat so pressure generally comes over max.
I've had really good luck with the 129 Nosler ABLR. Haven't recovered a bullet yet. Plenty of punch at close range but still do the job out at distance too. I run them out of an 18.5 inch sig cross.
Merry Christmas all.
I'm looking at a possible 2024 or 2025 elk hunt in NM or CO. A friend who lives out that way mentioned Black Timber Outfitters. Was wondering if anyone has any insight or experience?
I know it’s an old thread but if you check kimbers website it says 9 Twist. I have the same gun and it shoots great with 162 eldx and 160 accubonds. That’s all I’ve put through it.
I've got an X Bolt Hells Canyon Long Range in 7mm Rem Mag. I've done a significant amount of load development and just cant seem to lock down on consistency. It will shoot a half MOA group and then turn around and shoot a 2 MOA group usually stringing vertically. To me its acting like the...
I'm interested in hearing about the pillars if you end up doing that. I have the HC Long Range in 7mm Mag and I'm having a bit of vertical issue so I'd like to see what pillars might do its just that there's not much meat for the rear screw.
