Replace CPW with "Frontranger" and it's spot on.
I love how none of the articles address that the wolk killed it and left it. I mean, even if the mother got pissed and chased it off.
"Predators only kill what they need." Why nobody is mentioning that hypocrisy that is BS.
In 2023, Western Slope lawmakers from both parties brought a bill allocating $350,000 annually to a compensation fund providing up to $15,000 in reimbursement per animal killed or injured by a wolf or wolves. Under Proposition 114, the ballot measure that proposed reintroducing wolves, the state...
I only used those powder since that’s what I have on hand that had published loads.
Factory 88’s are 2735 in my rifle. 4350 loads are the same velocity.
62 grain with Varget are 3100. Lever was 3200 ’ish.
I’ve used Varget, Leverevolution and 4350 with 62 and 88 ELD.
29.2 Varget with 62 is very accurate. 4350 had fantastic ES with the 88. Case was filled to the top.
Lever had better velocities but sucked for accuracy.
All shot in AR 20”.
You still have to check the gun weights which takes nearly as along as the velocity check. I would hate to do that halfway through a match to find out I’m 1 ounce over weight and I’m screwed. I’m also not sure how they’d collect velocity on a stage. I’ve never seen a troop line which you may...
Other than the 7 PRC, your list has everything you need. The PRC is gonna beat you up over 20 stages and make it harder to spot impacts but it's your hunting gun so roll with it.
Don't expect to use your Kestrel on the clock. That's something to check at the waiting area before a stage.
It has nothing to do with scoring.
What I was saying is that you'd have different wind calls for each gun in the same conditions. It would be very frustrating to miss because you confused the wind calls under the stress of time. Pick one and run it the entire weekend.
Definitely true. Plus, you'll have a different gun number and will need to adjust your wind calls accordingly. Best to pick one and use it the entire match.
This happens often when clearly defined. If you're not finding targets right away always re-verify where the limits are and, more importantly, where you are in relation to the rear pin. If all looks correct then stand and glass.
That must have been a Hunter One match. In a 2-day Hunter match everything is blind. I must have missed the fact that we were discussing Hunter One.
Last weekend's match in Florence, CO, was the most difficult Hunter match I've ever shot. Took a while to find all the targets (still didn't...
