    Whitetail Stand Jacket

Have you tried it? I don’t love the zipper either, but having the full, connected pouch on the front is well worth it to me

    Whitetail Stand Jacket

You can almost always get it for around $280. Someone will be able to get you a code. It’s well worth that to me. I think I know 5 people with it now and no complaints Also it’s not marketed for it, but I’ve hunted in a rainstorm in it before and stayed bone dry

Your Best/Most Successful Day Ever in the Field?

Colorado 1st rifle one year we had 5 elk down on opening day (2 bulls and 3 cows). A different year 3 of us were done by 8:30 on opening morning.

    Whitetail Stand Jacket

Just get the fanatic and be done w it. I wear it with a core lightweight, and another thin layer and I’m perfectly comfortable into the teens in a tree stand. Take your walk in slow, or carry it in. But I tell everyone I get the chance that the fanatic jacket is the best money I’ve ever spent

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Finally got to see the .223 in person. My wife shot her first deer with it. -Whitetail buck - Factory black hills TMK, 16” barrel, impact velocity roughly 2650 - 40 yards, slightly quartered to. Went 25 yards and died. - Found the deer just by looking where it went. Backtracked the blood...

    Book Recommendations?

Mountain Drifter by Zach Bowman is great. He was on the Shoot2Hunt podcast awhile back too. Stories of his from guiding in the Thorofare

    Puffy pant performance

Not intentionally, but by losing some weight I technically did. I have the large M7’s which are 36”+ and Medium Grummans 32”.

    Puffy pant performance

So this is my first year using puffy pants. I bought the stone glacier Grumman’s. I wear first lite kiln long John’s, then my puffy pants, then my stone glacier m7 pants. I’ve never been more comfortable hunting. I’ve sat in a tree stand down to about 15 degrees and windy and was perfectly...

Venison Burger...what do you do with it?

Give this recipe a try. My wife likes this more than Elk or Antelope burgers. We’ve never added the bacon tho.

Hunting with Rifles Without a Sling?

During shooting hours, my rifle stays in my hands. And to me it’s honestly just as comfortable to carry it as it is to use a sling.

Real world factory 108 Eld-m ammo 6mm creedmoor fps

I’m getting 2746 from my 18” preferred barrel. I’m pretty sure my last lot was a fair bit faster than this tho. I just can’t remember the number anymore

    Mathews Arc

Interesting. I wasn’t aware of that ability with the stay afield system. I’ve never messed with that before. Thanks for bringing that up Edit- did a little research. Definitely not the most convenient thing, but for how rarely timing needs to be adjusted, probably not the end of the world...

    Mathews Arc

Really doesn’t do it for me. I’ve got an original lift 29.5. I’m not going to upgrade (regardless of brand) unless it has timing adjustment, and some type of limbshift adjustment. Which at this point is just Darton, and Bowtech I believe.

    Fragments in Meat?

If argue that most people that butcher their animals themselves do a much more thorough job of cleaning than a butcher does. We’re doing it to make sure we get the best product possible. They’re doing it to as fast as they can to make as much money as possible.

    New scope for woods rifle

Little update to this. Was hunting with it tonight, grey overcast evening and I could’ve easily made out a target and shot with it 45 minutes after sunset. And this was in the woods, not a field. Based on how bright it was, I’m sure I could’ve gone much longer. That’s just when I walked out of...

    New scope for woods rifle

I’ve got the Accupoint you linked with the green mildot reticle. It’s awesome, also dials great if you ever want to do that

    Fragments in Meat?

If you don’t shoot shoulders this in an incredibly overblown “issue”. Never bitten into a fragment, found a bullet shank trimming steaks before cooking once. Otherwise they all get found during butchering.

    Typical shot distance

In my experience, it all depends on the pressure. Goats that don’t get much pressure, our average shots have been 200-250 yards. Pressured goats can be incredibly difficult to get inside of 450 before they spook

$500 rifle scope. Best bang for your buck?

I’ve got a that exact accupoint on my .223 and it dials perfectly out to 750. Just take the top cap off. No zero-stop is a bit of a pain, but no the end of the world. I really prefer my Accupoint to my Credo 2.5-15

Your best buck , show and tell

Nothing too crazy, but a cool buck. His running buddy all summer was a giant, but come rut he moved about 2 miles and got killed.
