    Anybody hunted Kamchatka lately?

I know a guy who did in 2022. He hunted sheep and bear, but he said his trophies are unlikely to ever be exported from sanctions on Russian commerce. If you are looking at moose, you should understand the biggest bulls are killed in November and December by running them down on a snowmobile...

    Pending Toyota Recall

Mine is a platinum, so I can't relate to this comment. My guess is you either have or have looked at a lower trim SR or SR5?

    Pending Toyota Recall

Pick one of the aftermarket options and add them. Problem solved.

    Pending Toyota Recall

The new Tundra has the highest safety rating of any major full size truck, and my understanding is the lack of tow hooks was a measure to improve this. I think only the Rivian EV has a higher rating. The Tundra isn't a perfect truck, but I have been very happy with mine. Not a single issue so...

    Pending Toyota Recall

My last truck was an F150 with the 3.5 ecoboost. Although the truck itself had issues (bad hubs, bad twin-panel moon roof, bad paint, oil leak and bad door mechanism in less than 50k miles), I loved the turbo engine, and I would never go back to a naturally aspirated V8 after owning one.

    Pending Toyota Recall

The failure rate is less than 1%. Meanwhile, Toyota's quarterly sales figures show they are having a record sales year for the Tundra in 2024 while Ford, GM and Ram are piling up on dealer lots and not selling. Toyota stock price is $193 today and trending up. GM stock price is $44, Ford is $11...

    Pending Toyota Recall

I think most people familiar with this would disagree with you. Toyota took the initiative to recall these, which they didn't have to. Other companies, like GM, keep selling trucks with known lifter issues, diesel def system problems, active fuel management problems, etc, with no recall, leaving...

    Pending Toyota Recall

I have a 2023 Tundra Platinum, and the truck has been stellar. In over a year of ownership I haven't had even one single warranty issue. I can't say that about my last Ford and GM trucks I have owned. My truck is not part of the engine recall (yet), but I actually applaud Toyota for not just...

    Trophy expediters

I had a terrible experience with D&C in Anchorage and will never use them again. Another option is Alaska Trophy Expeditors. You are welcome to DM me for details.

Listened to Rogan today about the lunar landing…. What does Rokslide think?

Anyone who still believes the stolen election lies, at this point, IS the problem. Not the government. This is a great example of how people will go to great lengths of mental gymnastics in the face of overwhelming evidence to avoid admitting to themselves that they have been duped by a conman...

Mongolia - flight routes, airlines, firearm considerations

I flew Korean Air when I hunted Mongolia. No issues with our rifles. Depending on where you are flying out of, Korean via Seoul is a shorter route than flying the other way around the world through Istanbul, but as of last year Korean Air was quite a bit more expensive than on Turkish. Incheon...

Listened to Rogan today about the lunar landing…. What does Rokslide think?

Yes, we went to the moon. Every conspiracy suggesting we haven't and that it was staged has been debunked over and over again. There are plenty of other countries with space programs that have taken photos of the landing sites, which still show landing debris and footprints to this day. It would...

Kowa 553 Internal Rattle - Normal?

Not normal. Reach out to Kowa USA by phone (in California) and give them the serial number. Kowa is a good company, but If it comes back grey market it won't be covered. In that case I would ask the seller for a refund.

    Airline Travel with Antlers

The last time I hunted New Zealand I took my antlers and cape with me as checked luggage. Zero issues. It was easy if you get the correct form from the gov before your departure, which is nothing more than a notarized letter validating the origination and the legality of harvest. Your outfitter...

    Zero Outfitter Fees Reviews

This is basically the hunting version of an insurance pool for tags with low drawing odds. The idea is to get large numbers of people paying an annual fee of $599 to $749 for tags (and guided hunts) few will actually draw and utilize. No thanks!

    Kyrgyzstan Ibex Permits

Your ability to bring back trophies as checked luggage largely depends on your particular outfitter. Some outfitters are not willing or able to obtain your export cites and your vet certificate in a short amount of time when you are back in Bishkek. If yours can, you can fit most ibex into a 40"...

    2025 Alaska Bear Hunt Input?

There is a forest service cabin on the northern end of portage bay on Kupreanof Island near Petersburg. You should look into renting that cabin during the month of May, and renting a boat(s) in Petersburg. Cheap, easy, high success DIY black bear hunt, glassing for bears along the shorelines in...

You might rethink booking with Mark Romo out of Dillingham

No worries. From what I understand, Mark is still a registered air taxi through the FAA, but if he can no longer operate inside the state park areas, he will likely have to outsource his hunters to other pilots or other outfitters who can legally operate in those areas. I heard from another...

You might rethink booking with Mark Romo out of Dillingham

Mark wants you to believe he is "still operating like normal," because he wants your money. Read what I attached, or what Htm84 attached. Better yet, pick up the phone and call the proper channels in Dillingham or with the state, which is where I got this information, then come back and say this...

    Ibex in Mongolia or Tajikistan

Yes, just because it is a much more common round that has been around for so many years. In Kyrgyzstan specifically, hunters often give away unused ammo to the outfitter. That way, the outfitter has a surplus they can offer someone in a similar situation. That isn't possible in every country...
