    Watch question

Check out the Coros Apex. I have the 46mm and love it. It has an altimeter that relies on the in-built barometer. The battery lasts 2-3 weeks with regular intense GPS workouts, longer without any GPS workouts. All for around $300.

All rangefinders? That’s just crazy talk. 😆

    Overrated Gear

Ideally the buyer would try both before buying. The helinox doesn’t cause issues for me at 6’ 185.

    Overrated Gear

I have a helinox chair one. I’d never consider an alternative. It weighs very little, is very comfortable and is dead to nuts reliable. You can get cheaper chairs but they’ll either be much heavier, less reliable or both. If you want a lightweight backcountry/backpacking chair you can’t do...

    Hammock Gear burrow quilt

I’ve been using a 20* Econ Burrow on the ground for the last year and a half or so. Last summer I was 225 lbs as a 6’ guy. Im a side sleeper and I move around a fair bit; I didn’t have any issues. I sleep about average for temp and I love the ability to tuck completely under when it’s cold or...

0 degree bags that are STILL COMPACT

I’m a quilt guy. The hammock gear economy Burrow in 0 degrees with a sewn footbox weighs in at 33 oz, compacts down nicely and costs $270. You’ll need a very good sleeping pad in those temps too, make sure to allow for that.

    Sold Mystery Ranch Metcalf

Looking for a small/medium Metcalf with the guide light MT frame. Color isn’t terribly important. I live in Colorado and can likely pick it up about anywhere in the state. Or we can work out shipping for the right bag.

    Sub-$200 range finder

I think this is the right answer. I’m looking at reviews now and they all seem to speak glowingly about it. I can see why the folks on here love you so much.

    Sub-$200 range finder

I’m getting started on putting together proper gear for my Colorado elk and mule deer hunting. My budget for accessories is tight and I’ve pinpointed three main options for a range finder below $200: Vortex Impact 1000 Leupold RX-1400i TBR Laser Rangefinder Nikon Prostaff 1000i I won’t be...

WTT My 6.5 PRC ammo for your 7mm rem mag ammo

I have a box of Hornady Match 147gr for 6.5 PRC. I want a box of Hornady Outfitter for 7mm rem mag. I would also consider a box of ammo in the 150-168gr range with a monometal bullet for the 7mm rem mag. If you’re in Colorado we ideally could meet for a face to face trade.

    Backpacking newbie. Gear questions

I’m a quilt convert. I bought a hammock gear quilt to pair with my Big Agnes sleeping pad. For my tent I have a Kelty Gunnison 2. It’s a lower budget setup that I’ve put together over the course of 2-3 years, but it works well. All in I have about $450 or so. I do have a Kelty Cosmic Down 20...

    Roadkill for food in NV

In Colorado we can harvest roadkill with some steps to clear it with cpw first. I spend a lot of time driving in the mountains and make sure to always have my stuff with me in case I luck upon a roadkill deer or elk.
