Gray Wolves Recovered and Removed from Endangered Species List

"The Trump Administration has officially removed protections for the gray wolf under the Endangered Species Act, ending nearly half a century of federal protection. The Administration announced the decision Thursday, in conjunction with several conservation partners who agree the wolf...

    Athlon vs Vortex

I've used SWFA for a lot of my long distance rifles and they have tracked perfectly just past 800yds and never had any trouble. I've also used a few older Vortex scopes which have always held zero, but I never dialed for any and just did hold overs. The SWFA's are hard to beat for durability and...

    Cell Phone Coverage

In NW Wyoming and use Verizon. Have been with them for over 15 years and found them to be the best coverage for me across the US specifically when you get out of bigger areas. Verizon has contracts with the Govt and gets more satellites than others I thought. Have tried Sprint and T-Mobile and...

    vortex scopes

I've got Vipers on a few hunting rifles and have great luck with them. Decent enough glass for the price and the price point when I got them was a great value. Been using one on my 338 Win Mag for quite a while, 10 years I believe. Maintains zero and has tracked accurately when changing reloads.

Optic Arsenal For Early Season Mulies

Bushnell and Vortex also have a military/veteran/LE discount program that is very good. You have to email them then provide the proper identification or papers but it's a very large discount. I personally have been using the Vortex Viper HD 10x50 binoculars for 8 years now elk hunting and have...

    Average shot distance on pronghorn.

Shot distance varies greatly with the animals and the pressure they've been getting. Last antelope tag I was available for was a leftover late season tag in December. It was in southeast Colorado and the antelope would spook at the sight of a truck at 1k yards. Assuming poaching/road hunting was...

Long range hunting... the perspective nobody talks about

Of the elk I've been able to hunt, ever shot has been 100-150yds. Took one at 500 but that was concerns it was was wounded and made the shot. I shoot and teach long range shooting and guided elk hunts for years. Saw a lot of people attempting shots they had no business at, let alone using match...

Late Adult Onset Hunter in Colorado

Welcome from the Cowboy State. I wish the best to all the hunters and voters there on the wolf issue, but I don't have any hope on it. I believe it will win by majority from all the people that have no idea or knowledge of the subject.

    New from Wyoming

Was reading optic reviews on another forum I frequent, and saw a review about the Ares spotting scope on here. Mainly do rifle big game hunting and fishing but love pheasant hunting as well. In northern Wyoming but have done most of my big game hunting in Colorado for antelope, mule deer and elk.
