    0 Degree Bag

Of the bags mentioned I only have experience with WM. I have three WM bags (Kodiak, badger, megalite) and will say that their materials and construction are second to none. However I’ve never even used the Kodiak because I haven’t been on a trip where I’ve needed that kind of warmth. The loft on...

Tipi hot tent total weight. What does your setup weigh?

@chav0_12 yes agreed. My stove carry case is 11.4oz and pipe carry case is 3.3oz, so almost a pound. Good quality that should protect the stove from getting too warped/bent, but if you find a good alternative let me know. I'll be using regardless next week

12 Gauge vs 20 Gauge for bird hunting

I vote 12 gauge for a do-it-all. In my mind, having more pellets or a larger slug in the air is never a bad thing. Size your shot size and shell length to match your target species. The only real differences between the two gauges in my mind are shell capacity (12 gauge will hold more) and...

Tipi hot tent total weight. What does your setup weigh?

I'm actually going to use a bivy and a lighter 30 degree sleeping bag. My bivy seems like it adds a good 10 degrees+ to my sleeping bag so weight savings between this setup and a heavier bag/ground sheet are a wash. Plus I like being able to roll my bag/pad/pillow all up into one bedroll in the...

Tipi hot tent total weight. What does your setup weigh?

Just fyi for those interested. I emailed Argali about the weight discrepancies between my setup and their website. I heard back from Brad who was upfront and honest. The previous listed weights were taken on pre-production stoves and after a few tweaks on design and final production a few things...

Tipi hot tent total weight. What does your setup weigh?

Also I was a bit surprised and disappointed when I put my stove on the scale. After my original post I went back and weighed all the stove pieces curious where all the weight was coming from. Total Argali stove weight including 6’ pipe and all hardware was 50.9oz, which is 10+ ounces greater...

Tipi hot tent total weight. What does your setup weigh?

Thanks for the reply @Bearsears and no need to weigh your other setup if it’s not handy. I guess I’m just trying to get an idea of what kind of weight other people are actually packing around when all is said and done.

Seek Outside Medium or Large stoves fit Argali Absaroka 4p tent jack?

I think the only "fit" issue would be stove pipe diameter in a given stove jack. I have an Absaroka w/ Argali stove, but comparing the SO Large standard stove with the argali is darn near the same dimensions and same stove pipe diameter. The SO medium and u-turn stoves use a 2.5" stove pipe...

Tipi hot tent total weight. What does your setup weigh?

I recently purchased an Argali Absaroka (4P) tent along with the Argali Skyline Ti stove. After seam sealing the tent and burning in the stove, I weighed my whole setup. This includes tent w/ stove jack, stakes in small bag, tent stuff sack, carbon center pole, stove with all hardware and stove...

    Pronghorn sheath drop (Montana)

One thing to keep in mind at that time is weather. Mid November last year got COLD in eastern MT. I was able to get out and fill my region 7 antelope tag on opening day, but was back in the eastern half of the state in November for a few weeks of bird hunting. We had a week straight of -10 to...

Cimmaron vs. Absaroka ... Help me choose.

There are a few YouTube videos showing a full grown dude inside that give a good idea of size/footprint

Cimmaron vs. Absaroka ... Help me choose.

I’m 5’10” and it seemed super roomy to me. Without a stove, yes 3 people would be comfortable depending on how much gear you want inside. With a stove, 2 with gear max.

Cimmaron vs. Absaroka ... Help me choose.

I had the same purchase dilemma (argali vs SO). Ended up buying an absaroka. Main selling point for me was the argali was lighter (~7oz lighter than the cimarron lt, ~11oz lighter than the regular cimarron). Note that my argali carbon pole weighed in right at 10oz which is 2oz lighter than the...
