    Picatinny for SpotHogg

S and s archery has just the pic mount base for spot Hogg, it may not be the most cost effective but it’s certainly less than a whole new sight.

    5 pin vs Single pin

Glasses and my astigmatism plays hell with multicolored horizontal pins-I could make it work but the sight picture drove me crazy. I’ve been liking the double vertical spot Hogg sights. Like butcherboy I set the top pin at 30, second pin is about 43, and bubble is around 50 (depends on setup)...

    2025 Hoyt’s

Thanks man, it’s the 29. I’ve been a 33” ata guy for several years, but recently shortened my draw length and the 29 just fit/felt fantastic for me.

    2025 Hoyt’s

I’m pretty impressed with the new Hoyts, personally I love the changes to the platform vs the ventum/vtm series. The yokes and larger axle equals less cam lean and the limb tips don’t appear to lean or twist. That might all be aesthetic, but good lord did I hate looking at that on my vtm. The...

Anyone do any rucking with a Kifaru internal frame?

I recently got a minikeg for day/limited hunts, and have done a few short walks with about 50 pounds in it-feels great for me. I have a similar use case to you (not doing extended backcountry stuff but want to ruck/carry decent weight). Very impressed with the internal frame from kifaru. It...

    Evolution Jekyll Experiences

@roosiebull, I love shooting sage rats! I may try the Valkyrie option for a small game point-they make a 175gr glue in option (or I may just burn up some old arrows for this). The stock Easton (match grade) halfouts…probably suck like all halfouts, but at least they encapsulate the end of...

    Evolution Jekyll Experiences

I’m liking the look of those-the glue in 4mm stuff is honestly looking like one of the best component options now, fewer pieces and a long glue in shank with a collar seems like a solid design (why couldn’t someone offer that in a .204 arrow…) What shafts are you going with? I just got Axis...

Changing up Arrow build for Caribou

Bigbassfish, as far as your hand position I’d say find the grip that’s comfortable and repeatable for you, and tune to that. If you aren’t married to a certain grip/still trying to find what you and your bow like, then absolutely play with your grip/pressure and see if you can be repeatable...

    Pack dilemma

Well guys, I wanna thank you all for your advice and insight. I may have found a workable solution for myself (or at least justified some new gear). I decided to try a kifaru minikeg (22” internal frame). Now I fully acknowledge that this will in some ways be a compromise, but I think for the...

    Pack dilemma

Haha, glad it’s not just me, if I could just cut off the top 4” of my frame and reattach everything I’d consider that. Do you think 3-4” frame height is significant in the grand scheme of things? Or is that really just a minute difference and a 22” frame will still get hung up?

    Pack dilemma

Can you give me an idea of how much easier you found it to move through brush with the shorter frame? Like is it, “holy s*** what a difference!” or more “it is slightly less annoying with a shorter frame”? I’d be willing to pay new pack money for the first reaction. If it’s ultimately a...

    Pack dilemma

Hey guys, I really appreciate the feedback. I think if I hunted more open country this wouldn’t be an issue, but since I spend an unfortunate amount of time in the thicker stuff I tend fixate on whatever is annoying me the most as I waddle through the woods. Perhaps the smart move would be...

Best Quiet weather resistant archery layer in 40 degree PNW rain?

I’ll second Bump’s recommendation, I’ve been happy with mine (as happy as you can be in rain gear anyways). Quiet and comfortable for sure. I haven’t gotten a lot of rain to test, but it’s held up just fine to central Oregon weather- brief heavy rain or 1/2 day showers.

    Pack dilemma

Hey y’all, I need some guidance on pack selection/fitment. I’m 5’6”, about 18” torso length. I currently have a stone glacier x curve, and while it’s very comfortable and carries well, the frame is about even with the top of my ears, load lifter angle probably close to 45-50 degrees. I day...
