My 17 y/o son pulled a rifle tag for this area( I got a bear tag for it). Any general comments about hunting there from those that have in the past? Hunting pressure, terrain, typical weather seen late October/early November etc..

Got invited to hunt with a group there, otc second season. My only real question is how was the hunting pressure? I stopped hunting SW Colorado a few years back because it had gotten so crowded.
There's some other reasons I'm leaning in this direction that aren't important to the discussion...

Put this rifle together on a savage lightweight hunter I had in the safe. It shot very well as a 6.5 creed and hoping it continues as a 284. A good friend of mine( who happens to be an excellent gunsmith) chambered and mounted the barrel. Should be under 7 pounds all in with scope.
