350 legend for sure, I've owned a couple 45-70's and mostly deer hunt. I don't own them anymore. It's kind of like owning a humvee for your daily commute, fun for a bit but overall unnecessary for the job at hand. What I would have would be a 358win, and I do, but thst is not one of the choices...

Nearly new Mystery Ranch Marshall , taken on 2 weekend backpack trips to the Adirondacks, decided to try a Kifaru pack so I'm letting this one go. I'm keeping the frame for another bag that my son can use.

There are a lot of used Kifaru packs on here thst can be had for a decent price. They are absolutely fantastic at hauling loads. Big step up from my mystery ranch.
Prana zions fit the bill most of the time, and tied with them but definitely a little more rugged are. The kuiu attacks. Snowy conditions, kuiu guides.
That's good to know, thanks for the info. Like so many hunts, now that we know we're going all the planning starts and the anticipation of November. Really looking forward to something new and time out hunting with the boy.
For those of you that have done this hunt before, any words of advice for finding likely terrain that holds deer? I hunt whitetail entirely out east, and the environment is pretty different and outside my base of experience.
Don't have a Remington to use in this example but I sighted in three rifles we are taking out west this fall yesterday afternoon. It was in the mid 80's and the barrels heated up fast. One was a tikka t3x super light in 7-08, a Kimber Montana in 6.5 creed and a savage action with a custom 284...
for field dressing, carry my Civivi elementum. Just a small pocket knife. For quartering and packing out, little fixed blade anything and a sharpener. That being said that civivi will skin and quarter a whole deer before needing sharpended, just will be getting duller toward the end.
This year I don't have to find out!! But on the years I don't pull a tag( basically most years) I have a local state forest that is all steep hills and 65k acres that I hunt. I go in as deep as I reasonably can for day hunts ( they don't allow offsite overnight camping) and hunt big woods...
I wasn't responding to you, so your argument doesn't apply to the context I was referring to.
Both trolling anyway. Even if you're not, it's going to happen so get over it. No other state in the union has been ruined by this atrocity, some people even travel thousands of miles and pay 1000's of...
So when time is limited on an out west hunt it's ok for you to hunt Sundays. But back in Pa, no matter the reason for someone to have limited time afield, Sundays are not ok to hunt. That's called situational ethics. Some might even say hypocritical.
