I appreciate the responses and advice. It all makes sense. I will do my homework and I think checking my zero at altitude once I arrive for the hunt will be the two most important things I can do.

I agree the Trap Bar is not the same movement and incorporates different muscles. As previously suggested consider farmers carries along with the trap bar lift.
At the end of the day as long as you are lifting something heavy and putting it down is better than sitting on the couch.
I would say you need to evaluate your cardio level first. If you struggle completing a couple miles then you definitely need to bump up your cardio to 3-4x's a week. In addition I would do a lot of single leg work to improve your ability when it comes to climbing steep grades. Use weighted...
I would recommend visiting the local feed and seed shop/hardware store. They typically stock blends that perform well in your area and of they are blended locally they are much cheaper than big name brands.

I am doing a drop camp first rifle season in the Flat Tops. Looking for any recommendations regarding the the proper rating for a sleeping bag or quilt given that we will be in a canvas tent?
I am preparing for a 2020 2nd Season Elk Rifle hunt (Drop Camp) with Sable Mountain Outfitters and was curious to see what success (or lack thereof) hunters experienced in GMU 24. Also any feedback on Sable Mountain Outfitters would be appreciated.
