    Burris Optics Overall Impressions/Reliability

I have 5 Burris Scopes. 2 Droptine 4.4-14x42s, both on rimfires, 2 Veracity SFP and this pictured XTRIII 3-18. The XTR is unimpressive given the price. The reticle is useless below about 7-8X. Eye box is tight. It's meh in low light. Glass is good and it adjusts as it should. The Droptines...

Has anyone done a drop test on Leupold Vx5hd?

If someone puts a scope on their gun for the purpose of killing game, and they kill game, the scope worked.

Why cant people accept the fact that some people dont need a drop tested scope?

Did you ever ask them how they ascertained that it wasn't a gun/stock/platform issue? They may have even changed ammo. The bottom line is that the casual shooter, most shooters I'd say, aren't a reliable source for determining that the scope is the source of a shift.

Why cant people accept the fact that some people dont need a drop tested scope?

It may also explain why to some the drop tests are interesting but ultimately inconsequential. And it may also explain why scopes other than the Form favorites are perfectly suitable.

Why cant people accept the fact that some people dont need a drop tested scope?

All at distances where a .5 MOA shift wouldn't have been an issue.

Why cant people accept the fact that some people dont need a drop tested scope?

I read all of the scope tests with interest and think they do a pretty good job of identifying rugged and repeatable scopes. I have had quite a few Leupolds and Leupold made Redfields over the years. Seven right now. Many of them rode in handlebar mounted gun racks on my ATV and were subject...
