I was able to fit a 20” Carbon Six sendero contour in a factory stock with no issues. I had my gunsmith open up the barrel channel when he installed the barrel, then I opened it up some more with a dremel and sandpaper.
I just flew over the holiday’s with a shotgun in a heavy duty Plano case. It was locked with four small brass locks from Ace Hardware with no issues at all. Once you lock your case during the baggage check process there should be no need for anyone to open it, in fact I’d prefer TSA not to be...
Mine will be going on a 6.5 cm, 223, and soon to be built 6 cm, all tikka rifles. I’m most looking forward to be able to better see what I hit through the scope. Love seeing the willingness of a manufacturer to listen to customers and bring a project like this to fruition in such a short time.
Muley Buck, entrance
6.5 Creedmoor, 143 ELDX
335 yards, approx. 2330 impact velocity.
Slightly quartered and uphill shot
Bullet exited, ran about 40 yards and rolled down the hill. He was dead in less than 10 seconds.
That’s been my experience as well. The more I learn and shoot, the more I move to lesser recoiling cartridges. My next two kids will learn on suppressed 223’s.
I’m currently going down a similar road. I went with the t3 7mm-08 compact. With reduced recoil loads it’s a soft shooter, with regular loads it recoils a fair amount more than my T3X 6.5CM. Now I’m planning on rebarreling to a 6CM. If I had to do it again I would go 223 with the 77TMK. Recoil...
Thanks. The price was right, especially for my first can. So far so good, but I really only have about a dozen rounds through it. Very little POI shift and seems to be repeatable when taking off and putting on, I’ll know more tomorrow though.
It’s just the Limbsaver pad that I “engineered” to fit like that. Just re drilled the holes so that the top the the recoil pad was in line with the bore axis.
Other than the positional shooting drill that you have developed and posted about on here already, what else should I be doing that would be considered “purposeful and correct practice”? I’ve really enjoyed doing your positional drill, but I worry a bit that I may be ingraining bad habits and...
I know your pain, I hemmed a pair, it didn’t work very well. Then I bought a smaller pair, they definitely fit better, but the knee pad issue still persists. I was thinking of trying a pair of the lightweight ones hoping the sizing was different, but it doesn’t sound like it.
