7mm-08 Mountain Ascent loads and other info
Ok, thanks. I'm just thinking of 18-1/2" barrel vs 22". I'm hoping to get more fps, so wondering if I could look at different powders with the longer barrel. I'll start with same loads and compare the chrono data. I'll try some of your suggestions- appreciate the help. -

Away from home now, so don't have specifics. Believe it was IMR4064 (wt?), 200 CCI primer, with 140g Sierra Game King Spitzer boat tail. Can post more details tomorrow. I've used 150g ballistic tips- but seemed too much for PA whitetail. -

New to this forum and first time owner of Kimber rifle. I have loaded 7mm-08 before, but for Rem Model Seven. Any suggestions for powder type, grains, and bullet? Also, any information on distance from lands or just touching them? Barrel break-in procedures? Thanks guys.
