NXS 2.5x10-42 Compact on Tikka T3X with Uknown Munitions rings?

I'm sure its been posted someplace but how do the UM rings compare in height to the Sportsmatch rings for a 30MM scope? Are the UM lows about the same or lower than he Sportsmatch?

Question on R700 RR action serial number

??? The picture you posted clearly shows the serial number starting with an "S"?? and not an RR. So if that is the case it could certainly be from that time period.

    Piercision Rifles 300 WSM

Really a nice build, looks like the Benchmark CF barrels are performing well for you.

    Cerakote color

Tough to tell for sure due to the lighting but if I had to guess I'd say maybe Tungsten or more likely Sniper Grey?

    Talley mounts

Its actually just fine but I see what you mean:) The bolt handle on the Defiance Rebel is pretty long so it clears the scope just fine luckily.

    Talley mounts

I have mine set up that way, luckily the spacing worked out fine for my action/rings/scope combo.

Tikka T3x Lite Vs T3x SuperLite

You do realize this thread is going on 4 years old right??

    45” wide Utah non-typical

I've seen a picture of this buck on another "muledeer" forum. I recall it was guided by Wade Lemon Hunting which I also think has had some legal issues. They killed another huge buck that was posted.

They have had them on sale lately at Camofire so maybe they have one in your size??

How rare is a 200 inch mule deer

Always really enjoy seeing that picture. IMHO that is just one of the coolest mule deer bucks I've ever seen (y)

    Landowner Trespass Fees?

I had that list in the past but my understanding is they don't update them anymore. Local bio or game warden is still a good option to contact, they may have ideas of who might still do these types of hunts. In the units I've hunted I've seen fees anywhere from $250 to $1000 for a buck...

High quality Cerakote applicator in Northwest/West?

Might want to give Karl Feldkamp @ Kampfeld Customs a call. Karl does fantastic work including his Cerakote and usually has stuff back to you pretty quickly. Heck of a nice guy to deal with (y)

    the best 243 win bullet

Pretty sure that was written by Steve Timm who was also a big fan of the 95 grain BT. He lives or lived a couple blocks away from me and I had talked to him about this many times. He had some incredible mule deer mounts in his house.

    Tikka bolt handles

The one in the middle is the Campfire bolt knob that Karl put on the Ti handle. It comes with the carbon one on the left which is way too big IMHO. His a just right, I've had a bunch of the Campfire ones done on model 700's.

    the best 243 win bullet

I've had really good luck with both of those especially the 95 grain Fusion ammo. I've killed several truckloads of antelope and plenty of mule deer with it (y)

    NXS 2.5-10 Parallax

That's basically what I do on all 3 of mine, set mid-way seems to be a good place to be & then adjust as needed.

    Bolt action coating options

I only have experience with one rifle with the Black T and I really like how it looks and so far its holding up great. From my understanding this is a better way to go for a custom action since its thinner than Cerakote so things should keep running smoother.

    Talley Rings

Yes, usually one of the rings and I think its the front ring allows you extra spacing should you need to for your scope. Even Leupold has an extended base for their rings and these would work the same.

Mountain rifle, scope for a 7prc

Agreed, based on the Op's requirements the NXS Compact is never not a good option. Tough as you will find and weighs right at 20 ozs so not uber heavy. I've got them on my lightweight hunting rigs and for my use they have been great.

Help me choose a scope for my sheep rifle

The green stocked rifle in the picture I posted has the older mil-dot reticle. Many don't care for it but for me it works great. I mostly hunt in Oregon which if you don't know we do get plenty of rain, I hunt both mule deer and blacktails when I don't draw anything better. The reticle shows...
