Love to read Patrick Smith's essays/articles and I just re-read his article discussing contents of his possibles pouch. One item was a wire saw- something I know nothing about. Are these still used or available today?
This may be in the wrong forum but I'm trying to find out the name of the company that makes cordura duffle bags just like the ones Kifaru sold for a awhile. It's not native textiles but it's a fairly small cottage company. Anyone know the name?
Looking to shave weight so thinking about at a top quilt from them esp since there’e little to no lead time. I’ll be in 25-40 degree temps sleeping in a gathered end hammock. Any feedback from those who have used their quilts?
It's about 6 months old, gray, and fully seam-sealed and 10x10. In October, a spark found a home on it (pencil eraser sized) so John repaired it professionally. Otherwise, it's in great shape. I can send pics of it pitched to email or cell.

Looking for feedback...I'm an SG Krux frame user. It has hauled meat for me very well but not over long distances yet. I hauled it today with about 20# for eight 8hrs at a theme park today and my hips were hurting a bit. I think that's probably common since I haven't had it on for that many...
I know there's always trade-offs for most of the gear we end up selecting, nothing is perfect most of the time. That said, which sleeping pad do you think is the lightest YET the warmest as well?
i'm waiting on my custom made 10x10 tarp but I may not get it in tine for an October 7-8 trip. Any ideas on a where I can order one that is in-stock for this trip that won't break the bank?
Planning to order the Llano later tonight or tomorrow. Compared to the feel of tge aerowool next to skin, how will it compare in terms of the itch factor? Aerowool is smoooooth.
Which one, kryptek kratos or patagonia nano puff? Will be my warm layer for stopping on a himing trip and later on used for backpack hunting as well. Temps down to 25 but mostly warmer.
My shirt made it in today. I've not washed it but I wore it for 45 min or so. I started itching and was uncomfortable. Is washing it once the key? Everything I read about merino says it doesn't itch...
I have the gaiters but not the trail runners yet . . . anyone used the flex tex on salomon's or something similar? Just wanting to know if they function correctly on a shoe vs. boot.
I live in the Arkansas and though my current tent is an ajax 2 w/ a floor I'm wondering...any of you from the south or east using floorless shelters November-January?
Building my system for 3 days or so in November and Im a pretty cold sleeper. I picked up the BA pad and a Marmot Apex 2. I'm looking at either the Hammock Gear Burrow 20 w/ xtra fill or The E and E quilt. Thoughts on this system for a night in the mid-high 30's?
the thread title pretty well sums it up but I hunt in the east and will prob not be using a floorless shelter. That said, I need a 2 person tent capable of withstanding intermittent/daily rainfall. Was hoping to find the 'perfect' idea here. XD
