The “Montana Bow Sling” seems like it is going to work out well. Doesn’t strap up and out of way but keeps it handy. No experience in mountains with mine yet but I like it so far.
If you make it up to Leadville (N of Buena Vista), hit the little Mexican restaurant on the right….cheap, very good food and a free shot of cheap tequila for dessert.
To shave off a few ounces I just stick with a compact .22 handgun. In the event of a bear encounter I aim for my hunting partner’s knee cap. Like was stated earlier I don’t have to be faster than the bear, just faster than my partner.
Ordered a daypack from Badlands. They sent the daypack and a larger, more expensive pack. I called them…..they thanked me for calling and pointing out the mistake then told me to keep both.
Got my 5000 in earlier this week. Impressed by it so far. Did my first 50 lb hike with it today. Hip belt/lumbar pad is awesome. Zero slip. Shoulder straps/torso still needs some fine tuning on my part. Nice work Exo!
