Question, how tight are you guys torquing your actions screws and in what order for the best accuracy?

Just got back from the range, the Hunter 6.5 felt great with the weight reduction, I don't have another rifle close to this cal or weight but I would say it felt and handled like a .243 IMO. No real vibration or extra noise. Love it!!!! Now just need to work up some loads for Sheep.

Well I'll be damn, got the whole piece of gel to come out at once, a long skinny flat head screwdriver, half a bottle of Hoppes # 9 oil. And Bam! 6.7oz gone
Roger that, looks like I'll start picking and digging. I already cut out as much of the excess rubber in the butt pad. Would like to get down around the 5# range as well. The scope I've got is the Leupold Freedom VX 4x14X40 weighs in 13oz. So closer I can get to under 6lbs the better

Have you noticed any differance in recoil and/or accuracy by removing the gel from the stock? and have you noticed if the stock lost any structual integrity, like flexing or prone to cracking? I found your post because im interested in putting my Hunter 6.5 on diet as well .
