    Horseback hunting questions

I wouldn't worry about taking any kind of grain. Even if they lose a little weight, but on the typical 5-10 day hunt if there's plenty of grass they'll be fine. If there isn't enough grass that's a different story and I'd be taking some kind of complete ration cube. If they are going to used...

    22 ARC or 6ARC

Sorry I didn’t have the sarcasm font on. Some on the forum are advocating for breaking the wilderness non resident rule in Wyoming because the fines are rarely given, small when they are, and they don’t take your animal.

    22 ARC or 6ARC

Why are we worried about minimum caliber laws? I mean I’m sure the fines are small and they won’t take your elk.

    Feedback on Whitetail Shot

Good grief. Go kill him already. Pay the fine if you have to.

    Heated vest experience?

I have the pnuma vest and like it alot. I wear it over a light mesh t shirt. In my experience it does fit snug. I originally ordered a large and exchanged it for an XL. It helps out quite a bit. I'll put it on and not really even notice it until I'm stationary and turn it on. And the heat...

    Mule Deer over Money

The reason it does make sense for shooting immature males or females of the other species is they aren’t struggling as a species.

    Mule Deer over Money

Grown adults shooting immature mule deer bucks or does is a huge pet peeve. First of all they are dumb. Second if you are traveling to hunt then the meat is not a big deal in your financial world. In fact if you can afford to hunt at all the meat isn’t a big deal. Some hunter will have...

    Bino helo

I've never looked through the latest version slc so obviously I don't know, but I'm a little surprised that they still rank higher than the latest mid tier binoculars. Is this a fan favorite thing or the reality of how good slc really are?

Trophy Elk: What's it to YOU

Agree with this as well. While recognizing that there are many other ways to define a “trophy” that don’t involve horns.

    223 1:10 Twist Ammo Recommendation

It’s neither. It’s a whole different bullet. And it works well on deer and antelope at least.

Two Lucky young hunters. 24 shots to stop a grizzly attack!

I’d say those “kids” did pretty well for themselves and have more street cred to talk about bear defense than 99.9% of the population.

    Would you buy this scope?

Revamp the Bushnell lrhs 3-12 with a better reticle and sleeker turrets. I'd buy at least one. Keep some decent tube length for mounting flexibility. Something by nightforce is a no for me as long as the whiny poacher is on their payroll.

    2025 Wyoming Elk Draw/Questions

DIY in todays world means having someone hold your hand at every step except maybe you don’t hire an outfitter.

    Cheap Stuff that Works

Yes. Pretty much use the havalons for everything. Orange and sharp and not expensive.

    Scheels gift card

Scheels, at least in Billings, is giving a $100 gift card when you buy tikkas or seekins. Maybe others but I didn’t look.

I Pushed SOS and Got Rescued: Lessons Learned

Glad you are ok and home. Hoping you find out what is going on. The not knowing part is almost the worst. Not sure if you meant it to be but thank you for the reminder to always leave on good terms. (I’m not saying that well) with your loved ones. You never know when it’ll be the last time...

    Moving to Idaho

I completely agree as well. The hunting, fishing, hiking, job opportunities, schools, health care are second to none. It is a fantastic area. Great restaurants too.
