I second the InReach or Zoleo. The Spot uses a low orbit satellite and the others use a much more robust system. The Zoleo uses a phone number that you can keep year to year as well.

I’m pretty new to spot and stalk bear hunting myself but I was taught the old adage to “chase the green”. Find areas that are lush, with dandelions being a plus. Also chase the bait. If you spot elk and deer with fawns, there is a good chance a bear will be near by.

A tourniquet is a solid idea and a literal life saver. The Combat Application Tourniquet is the cat’s pajamas. Mine fits in the misc pouch below my AGC bino harness.
I second the La Sportiva Nepals. They are stout but be wary of the break in period. Mine took a hundred miles and I still tape my heels. I found the key to comfort was to not lace them very tight.
I leave mine on as well but keep in mind that if you have a traditional sling, it becomes a real PITA. You will be fighting it most of the day as the rifle becomes pretty “top” heavy. A gun bearer or something like that is a better option.
You could prob get an Impact Precision 737 with a Proof barrel in a month from Blue Mountain Precision. I have one of theirs in a Manners EH1 with the mini chassis and it is stupid accurate, even with factory loads. I think I was three weeks from the time of order to it being at my door. The...
You looked at Impact Precision at all? Incredible actions and the ability to swap a barrel at home is a real plus. I have one in 6.5 PRC and it is smooth as they come. Not cheap, but no more gunsmith fees.
My hunt with Bay Air was in 1996 so my opinion might be a bit dated. They provided us with a wonderful experience all around and I can’t recommend them enough. Tom was able to provide us a Zodiac with a motor which was fairly crucial to expanding our hunting area. He also placed us in an area...
