Winnerwell Fastfold Titanium Stove $375 shipped (to lower 48)
This stove has been use on one trip (3 nights). This would be perfect for a tipi, 8 person or so. It just does not get my snowtrecker tent hot enough (because of in that tent, unlike a tipi, most of the stove pipe is outside the...
I use the .503 diameter. That is what NE recommended for knights, and the accuracy was good so I never experimented with anything else. Friction fix, easy to load. I really think the sub bridges take up an gap. I have recovered a few one the far side of elk, they end up with a pronounced dimple...
I shoot the 460ge NE out of my Knight Ultralight. 80gr of FFF 777, with Ballistic Sub-Bridge. Have taken 6 cows with it. Everyone was DRT. Love this combo. I think the ballistic sub-bridges really help the bullet engage the rifling.
Good luck
So I love boots with rubber rands all the way around, awesome for kick stepping up steep slopes. I have had both Kenetrek Hardscrabble and Lowa Tibet. Unfortunately, they seem to always start peeling sooner or later. This last go round I applied a bead of gear aid aquaseal with a toothpick at...
Consider taking up a female with you when you search. That helped my buddy catch his lost llama. Might not be as helpful on geldings, but I bet they still like being around females.
Not a fan of powerbelts, they fragment too much, and are too expensive for what they are. Try No Excuses Muzzleloader bullets, Heaviest your gun will shoot accurately. Mushroom perfectly and reasonably priced. Shoot great out of my knight!
Buddy has the metcalf and does not like it, no organization (i.e. smaller pockets). I have a beartooth and love it. Yes maybe over kill for 1-2 days, but with all the pockets, still worth it.
Mystery Ranch pack are the best!
I am with sabotloader, Knight ultralights are awesome. Buy once, cry once. Buddy missed 2 elk cause of a CVA that had firing pin problems. You could not pay me to hunt with one.
Not a fan of Powerbelts, fragment too much for my liking, Bulled a healed over powerbelt out of the hindquarter of bull once. No Excuses Muzzleloader bullets are far superior in my book. perfect mushroom everytime, Have recovered 4, 95%+ weight retention.
I gave up on CCI caps a few years ago, at times it took a couple caps to get a charge to go off. I think RWS are far superior. Never had a problem with them. Always go bang.
My buddy missed 2 elk cause his cva would not fire (striker issue). Don't be so quick to write off Knight. I love my knight, very accurate. Only had one cause to call for customer service and it went very smooth. Have told all my friends who are looking to buy Knights.
Love those wrangler pants. discovered them a couple years ago.
While trying to cut weight on a trip, I swapped my ultralight thermarest cot for a Alps Mountaineering air mattress, cheaper ($60) and every bit at comfortable in my book. Now I prefer it.
I like my Helinox chair, a comfortable seat makes it possible to hang tough and glass all day. That chair is responsible for my best elk. I stuck it out, cause I had a good seat. Worth every ounce.
