Thanks fellas. I was mostly worried about the buzzards contaiminating something. It was plenty cold for the time it sat out. It all smells fine just have it in a cooler at the house.

Question for you guys. Shot a buck friday and the shot was a little far back so I let him sit for a few hours. He only went 100ish yards, but by the time I got to him a buzzard had picked his eyes out and went after the back hams a bit. Is any part of this deer salvageable? I cleaned him and...
I spent 2 days scouting and then 7 days hunting elk in what I would say is a deer unit. The only really big bucks I saw were on private. Saw a few decent 4 pts on public, but nothing that I would have shot with the number of pts the unit takes. The elk were mostly above 10k. Had a weird run in...

No I'm not asking for your honey hole or even mentioning a unit. I drew a tag this year in a unit that a guy I know killed a bull in a few years ago. Nothing location specific, if you were going to give a first timer a tip, pointer, etc. What would it be?
If anybody has a pair of larges they would part with let me know. Ordered some XLs based off shoe size and they take some work to get tight on my calves.
Thanks guys. I have some chains for the rear and some traction boards on the way. I understand the limits of my truck and won't push it too much with snow. The area I have picked out isn't crazy to get into or out of.
Drew a 2nd season elk tag this year in CO. Going over my list of gear and I think I need some tire chains. I've driven in the mountains but have never been out this late in the past. I have a bone stock 23 Tacoma SR with 245/75R16 tires on it. Any recommendations for chains?
