    Game Bags

Historically used cheap Allen bags but was gifted some TAGS bags. They are alot less volume and weight in pack but they were a little small for elk quarters. I used one bag for bstraps and got the Allen bags on return trip with frame pack. Will save them for backcountry deer hunts.

Mule deer - Merriam Turkey mount

I think it's a cool idea and will mention that toms strut all the time on tree limbs before flying down. Maybe look for a cottonwood trunk with a stout limb for turkey to be on. Good luck and post pics if u get it done!

Good God Reburn! Send me coordinates and I ll be over.... Anybody tried the Boone and Crockett club whiskey? There was an 80 proof and 86 proof bourbon ($30) and 86 proof rye ($35) in Glenwood springs store. Cool but I couldn't bring myself to buy it. Cool bottle with elk skull and "tag"...

    Do I Need Nicer Glass?

Your vortex binos will be adequate for your first elk hunt. You don't need a spotting scope for your first elk hunt. Don't use your rifle scope as a monocular. As many have pointed out, hunters safety courses impore that you only point your rifle at things you want to destroy or kill. Don't take...

This is the first big buck I got. First solo and backpacking hunt. After several scouting trips I found him and watched him about 5 times/ days before hunt started. Got him at 10am opening day. So many cool memories with this great buck.
